Judy E f-1' On September 2, 1952, our class, one of the largest in the history of C.C.C.H.S., started another year of school. Our 'well selected advisors for our first year were Grace Bennett and R. K. Davis. We elected Tommy Whitehead, President, Donna Webb, Vice President, Sally Crain, Secretary, and Jim Evans as Treasurer. Our Checoukan Queen candidates were Sally Crain and June Fisher. Everyone was thrilled when June was crowned our Checoukan Queen on February 5. June was the second Freshman queen in the history of C.C.C.H.S. Our second year at dear ole C.C.C.H.S. was started with everyone more confident than they were the previous year. Our class officers were Bob Boulware, President, Larry Cowley, Vice President, Carole Cross, Secretary, and June Fisher, Treasurer. Our officers and class had the advice of Ruby Johnson and Bulah Batten. Donna Webb looked very sweet at the 'Lcoal bucketn game which she reigned over as our Football Queen for 1953. We were all very proud of you. Donna. Our annual queen candidates were Mary Saporito and Mary Grant. We were overjoyed when Mary Grant was chosen as attendant to the Queen. Our football lettermen were Cliff Corn, John Turner, Larry Cowley, Ronnie Hatcher, Jerry Walker, and Keith Porter. Our busiest year, but the most enjoyed one, was the year 1954-55. Our advisors were Jane Hoghes, Chet Hurd, and James Howard, who helped so much to make our banquet a success. Ted White was elected as President for this important year, with Jerry Bender, Vice President, Jan Stauffacher, Secretary, and Mary Saprito, Treas- urer, to assist him with the business of the class. We were all excited when Mary Saprito was football queen attendant. Annual queen candidates, Harriet Harwick and Carole Cross. We were very proud of you as queen attendant, Harriet. Football lettermen were Cliff Corn. John Turner, Keith Porter, Fred Nash. Jim Burgan, Ward Koons, Larry Cowley, Charles Fistau, Robert Roberts. Larry Asbell, Dale Kirk. Lettermen in basketball were Earl Eddington, Ted White and George Daniels. Yes, it was a very busy year, it was very much enjoyed also. Well, see you next year as Seniors! 4. This day meant the beginning of four wonderful years of high school. The first four days passed very quickly and then the dreaded day called Initiation Dayi' was here. One hundred and forty-five students were decorated with lipstick, shoe polish, fingernail polish, eggs, cologne, and powders of all kinds. The class of '58 got off to a flying start by electing class officers. We elected Charles Helwig as President, Johanne Windle as Vice President, Melinda Adams as Secretary, and Leon Ballenger as Treasurer. Next in our activities came Checoukan queen candidates. We chose Karen Taylor and Johanne Windle to represent our class and were very happy when Johanne was chosen as second attendant. Four students were named on the A honor roll the first semester. They are: Hazel Mae Rorabaugh, Jane Hedges, Marsha Moody, and Billy Shelton. On February 14, 1955, we had a very successful class party by the help of our sponsors, Miss Bennett and Mr. Davis. The class of '58 had very successful basketball and football teams. Our football team won every game that they played. We are very proud of our athletic boys and hope they do as good next year. This year has been an exciting and successful one. We hope that next year, as sophomores, we will have as much fun. Starting its third year, the Student Council got under way to complete the 1954-1955 year with shining colors. Bil- lie Rose Simone, serving as President, Jim Dungan, Vice President, and Mary Elizabeth Simone as Secretary-Treas- urer, along with Charles Angle, Sponsor, and the Student Council members, helped make the Student Council a stronger organization in order to govern the student body. These students worked hard to try to prove exactly what the Student Council should mean to the student body and to the school. Several projects were accomplished for the school year. They were as follows: 1. A Student Council Talent Assembly was sponsored for the first time. 2. Together with the Pep Club, the Stu- dent Council decorated the recreation hall for the Homecoming Dance. They also collected boxes for the snake dance. 3. To add Christmas spirit to the C.C.C.H S halls the Nature Study Club along with the Student Council, decorated the school building with wreaths Christmas scenes and music between classes. 4. A Good Sportsmanship Code was placed in the gym to remind all students fincluding the opposing teamsj of the true meaning of sportsmanship 5. A clean-out-locker day was sponsored to help the students find their books 6. Improvement of the assembly and Cafetefla line attitude was suggested 7. An An and A-i' Honor Roll was published 8. Recognition Day for outstanding students This concludes the work of the 1954-1955 Student Council It will continue, we are sure, to prove its worth and power as a student governing organization in years to come.
