With the combined efforts of the team the Redbirds defeated Dee-Mack to give them an at large berth in the State Play-Offs. For the first Play-Off game the Chenoa team traveled to Gilman where the Birds, as the underdogs, made a surprising victory over the Owls. To everyone's delight, Chenoa played Lexington in the State Play-Off Quarter Final game. The stadium was filled to its capacity with exuberant fans for both teams. The Birds held the Minutemen until four minutes were left in the fourth quar- ter. The Minutemen scored and then scored again. The Birds had lost. Including this year, Coach Thomas has the most victo- ries in the Chenoa High School coaching records. He has 92 wins and 42 losses. Todd Reeser and David Fogal were mentioned in the Chicago Sun Times as All-State Mention. All Conference Selections: Offensive All Conference: David Fogal-End, Todd Reeser-Quarterback fsecond yearj. Defensive All Conference: David Fogal-End, Todd Reeser-Linebacker, Dan Car- ranza-Back. Special Mention All Conference: Jim Brown-Center, Stuart Hoselton-Defensive Back, Phil Piercy-Guard, Rodney Rhoda-Full Back, Todd Rhoda-Offensive Tack- ler, Dan Carranza-Offensive Back.
