Raise Our Spirit Hi The Cheerleaders have made it through another great season. Both squads attended camp dur- ing the summer. The Varsity squad received the Cheerleading Traveling Trophy at the McLean County Tournament for the sec- ond year in a row. Throughout the football and basketball sea- sons the girls did skits at pep assemblies and pompon routines which were just minor tasks of their enthusiasm. They added spirit wherever they went. 20 Compliments of THE ROGER SEEMAN FAMILY Chenoa, Illinois H, E, Sponsor: Mrs. Diane Jontry

Pictured: Coach Baude, P. Campbell, D. Golliday, S. Sension, M. Myer, S. Landrus, J. Gibson, S. Grinnell, and S. Hoselton. Coach Baude and the Ladybirds started practice December first with twenty girls. After five weeks of long hard practices, sprints and three minute runs, scrimmages against the Freshman boys and Pontiac girls, fourteen girls were ready to face their first interscholastic girls basketball game in C.H.S. history. This task was made more difficult by two facts, first, their opponents, Cornell, had had six years of experienceg second, the game was at home and this made the girls extremely nervous. The J .V. lost at the buzzer 13-12, while the varsity showed that they were well pre- pared if nervous. They lost 42-24 shooting only 19? from the field. The season ended as it began, with the girls losing because of poor shooting. They lost to Lexington in the regional semi-finals 46-20. 22 Compliments of HOWARD PICK and FAMILY Chenoa.
