Junior Class Histor On SepTember 5, i935, a new C. C. H. S. Train wiTh ThirTy-nine passengers sTarTed on a journey Through school. Miss BarTh and Mr. Eerree were The engineers. The TirsT semesTer Vernon King, Gerald Claudon, and Mary Schwager were The conducTors. The Train sTopped aT TourisT Park in SepTember and The passengers enjoyed a wiener roasT. They Then conTinued Their journey. The second semesTer The conducTors were relieved oT Their work by Marjorie Lahn, Mildren Skaggs, and Eudora Bunge. In May They sTopped aT Asper's Grove Tor a picnic. In June They arrived aT Their TirsT desTina- Tion and The Train was Taken OTT The Track Tor repairs. Everyone was ready Tor The journey To Their second desTinaTion on AugusT 3l. I936. On This parT oT The Trip Miss BarTh and Mr. Jenson were The engineers. Mil- dred Skaggs, John Vercler, MarTha Reis, and Harold Morris were The conducTors. AT The William GenTes sTaTion They Took Time ouT Tor a Halloween parTy. During The second semesTer The conducTors were Verda EsTes, Mildred RaThbun, Bernice GenTes, and Gerald Claudon. As The passengers were geTTing Tired oT riding so long, in May They sTopped in PonTiac, where They wenT To a skaTing parTy. in June The Train arrived ar The second main sTop oT The journey. Everyone deserTed The Train Tor Three monThs. On AugusT 3I, I937, all were anxious To move on, so wiTh Miss Johnson and Mr. Perdue as engineers The Train pulled ouT Tor The Third desTinaTion oT Their Trip. Ber- nice GenTes, Harold Morris, John Vercler, and Lucas BuTTry were conducTors Tor The TirsT halT oT The year. On CommuniTy Fair Day, because They were running low on expense money, They sold chances on a Tive dollar bill. They also won second place on The TloaT They made. On November 24 The passengers sTopped long enough To buy Their class rings and pins. The second semesTer Mary Schwager, RuTh Ringenberg. Mildred RaThbun and Rozella OlTman were chosen Tor conducTors. In June The Train reached The Third desTinaTion oT The journey Through Chenoa High School. The pas- sengers hope To conclude Their journey nexT year by arriving aT The GaTe of The Alumni. Y Sophomore Class History On AugusT 3l, in an airship, The class oT I94O sTarTed on a very imporTanT Trip sponsored by Miss Harrower and Mr, Ferree. The TirsT half year, The ThirTy-eighT passengers were piloTed by Doris Leek, KeiTh Phillips, and Carolyn Kaplan, and The lasT halT oT The year by Jerome Schickedanz, Verne Erdman and Eloise McCarThy. On OcTober 23, The airplane landed aT The Tarm oT Alvin Schickedanz, where a Hal- lowe'en parTy was held. Then The TlighT was resumed. From June TirsT To SepTember TirsT The crew Took a Three monTh vacaTion. They again resumed Their TlighT on Sep- Tember TirsT piloTed by KenneTh Zimmerman, Lois STreid, Lillian Lee, and KeiTh Phil- lips. The plane landed on December TiTTeenTh aT The Chenoa CommuniTy High School, where a parTy was held. The TlighT was conTinued, being piloTed during The second halT by Helen Richardson, Merle Parry, Dois Leek, and Dean Johnson. The airslnip is now Tlying Toward The land of FurTher AchievemenT. Freshman Class History On AugusT 3l, The class oT '4I were pushed inTo high school on brighT green sleds. The TirsT semesTer we were sponsored by Mr. Walker, Miss Orr, and Miss BarTh. The class oTTicers were: PresidenT-Junior Osborne, Vice-PresidenT-Theodore Powell, SecreTary-Treasurer-Francis Vercler, and Treasurer-Junior RoszharT. The lasT halT oT The year we were sponsored by Mr. Walker and Miss Floyd.
