CV’s greatest cross-country season was topped off this year with Marshall Bradley’s greatest race. Marsh finished first place in CV’s last meet, held against the top teams in NYS. So great was Marsh’s victory, that he can be classed unofficially as the second best runner in the state. His resounding victory also led our cross¬ country team to its greatest victory, a win of one point over six top NYS teams. In this race CV beat the num¬ ber one and number two teams in the state, making CV’s cross-country team unofficially tops in the state. Coach McDaniel thought this would be a building year with only three seniors returning—Bradley, Brown- low, and Robinson. However, through Coach Mc- Daniels’s superb coaching, five sophomores were brought up into the forefront—Ray Smith, Dave Brinsko, Marv Berg, Greg LeRoy and John Reid. The overall record for this year was five wins, one second and three thirds. This was the third year in a row that our cross-country team has won the section 4 title.
