Se An Undefeated Gridiron The 1963 season was Chenango Valley’s second best in history. The squad, guided by Head Coach Mike Durbin and Line Coach Frank Kaminsky, won 6 and lost 1. Although the team didn’t play in the Southern Tier Conference, it still met some very tough teams, like Maine-Endwell, Norwich, and Notre Dame of Elmira. Individual stars could be found in both the line and the backfield. John Truchan, left guard, and Dave Perry, left tackle, enjoyed good seasons as did center Rick Gamble. In the backfield, Jim Corey quarterbacked the offense and in the seven games threw 9 touchdown passes, tying a school record.
