Officer of the Day t he senior class of 1960 takes great pride in dedicating its most valued possession, the Yearbook, to Mrs. Edith Holmwood. In our daily contact with her during our years at Chenango Valley, we have come to realize that through her tireless effort, warm heart and helping hands, she typifies the spirit of our Alma Mater. She has truly won the hearts of our entire student body. To us, Mrs 0 Holmwood has become a symbol of virtue and inspiration; an ideal towards which we shall ever strive. As we depart from Chenango Valley, we will always cherish the memories and daily associ¬ ations with one of our finest teachers and friends, Mrs. Holmwood, whom we all love. To you we dedicate this annual. 3

a s a ship leaves port and ventures out to sea, so the time is draw¬ ing near when we, as seniors, shall leave our home-port, Che¬ nango Valley High, to face a new sea of adventure. In preparing to disembark from the S. S. Chenango Valley we look back over this part of our voyage with many pleasant memories. The officers, our faculty, have added greatly not on ly to the educational value but also to the pleasure of our trip. They were always ready to help if the weather became stormy and have given us the inspiration by which we have chosen our future course. During the voyage, we have learned much from our association with our fellow passengers, the students. From their ideas and experiences we have increased our ability to deal with our own problems. We shall never forget the hours of fun and recreation we shared under the direction of our “so¬ cial directors”, those members of the faculty who led us in sports and other group activities. As we leave this ship we embark on an even larger one which will carry us through life. The knowledge and abilities gained on the S.S. Chenango Valley will help to determine the route and success of our greater voyage. To help us remember all the pleasant memories of our voyage we present the 1960 Warrior. z u •o J, J L.
