Foreword Growing up is a series of experiences. Some of these experiences are gay and joyous, while others are sorrowful. No matter what experience you en- counter it includes a valuable lesson. Many of the experiences and lessons, that were instrumental in giving to us an adult view of life, took place in Chenango Valley High School. How much we appreciate our teachers, who were willing to go beyond the call of duty in giving us individual help in our difficult subjects and, more im- portant, in guiding our ideas and thoughts into productive and fruitful paths. The extra curricular activities in which we were engaged gave us an op- portunity to put into practice many of the theories we learned in the class- room. It was through these activities that we pursued our special interests and learned to follow a group leader of our own age and choice, and to co- operate with a group or committee, and offer leadership when given op- portunity. Last, but not least, is the school building proper. Our new school with its abundance of modern equipment certainly made a pleasant setting for the lessons we learned in high school. And now we wish to present the WARRIOR, a pictorial memorial of the many experiences we had during our years of training at Chenango Valley High School. The door of the past is fast closing on the old familiar world of childhood and high school. On the momentous night of June , 1958 the door will shut behind us forever. We shall be- V gin' our joumey into the world adulthood to face its joys and sorrows,to make our place known, to be- come theworld of tomorrow, to fulfill our destines as God shall guide us. It shall be only in fondest memories that we shall again see and feel Chenango Val1ey,the thrilling foot- ball games, the classes, the friends, the fun and hard times. and hear the strains of our alma mater being sung on graduation night. Here in this very first Warrior, the very first graduating class of Chenango Valley Junior-Senior High School has collected a few pictures to remind us of the past wonderful time we've spent here. Here is a yearbook we've collected a few remembrances for us to give to you who will someday take our places and to you whose places we shall take. I only hope you of the future graduating Classes will receive as much joy and satisfaction from creating your yearbook as we, the editors of the first Warrior, have had creating ours. It is with this thought that we leave you with our Warrior, your remembrances of the Class of 1958. God be always with you. The Editors 2
