HISTURY EPTEMBER, ln the year 1939, was a great event 1n the l1ves of five of our semors Catherme Ro mam Patsy Scott, Lawrence Sherwood Sylv1a Wxlhams, and Robert Rogers Th1s was their f1rst year of school, wlth Mrs Hurlbut as thelr teacher Thls partlcular year went qulte slow but as we progressed through the years, they seemed to fly by From these early years llttle IS remembered except those who came and went In the second grade Donna Treadwell Joined our clan Mrs Palmer s third grade was our next step toward high school John Hunsxnger, Roger Mxller James Fendlck, Jean and Joan Hamxlton and Frances Whltmarsh came that year but Fran left later that same year Mary Turna Jack Stephens, and Gordon Outman Joined 1n throwmg paper wads in Mrs Sparks fourth grade We went back to Mrs Palmer s care ln flfth grade These first f1ve years were rather peaceful but when we reached Mrs Pr1esler's slxth grade we really knew what was what fwe thoughtl Robert Hatfleld and James Bromley helped even more to lwen up that year Sylvia W1lliams moved but must have mlssed the old tlmes as she came back a couple of years later By the tlme we reached seventh grade, we were spllt unto two rooms, some ln Mrs Hollenbeck's and the rest ln Mrs Nelson's The new comer, Darwm Burnett was gladly welcomed Th1s was what you mlght call the movmg year Fran Whltmarsh returned Bob Hatfield moved but came back in the elghth grade and Patsy Scott left ln January and returned in May The long hard grmd fmally brought us to our flrst goal Elghth grade Two people joined the class that year They were, Donald Yankosky and Leonard Peters At last Htgh school here we were Boy, dxdn t lt feel grand to be a full fledged freshman M Walsh and Mrs Munson fthen Miss Parkerl were our falthful advisors Barbara Chase Jolned our class that year It felt wonderful to be ln hlgh school even lf upper classmen dldIl't seem to notlce us Before we knew 1t,we were Sophomoreswxth Mr Grow and Mrs Wells as our advxsors Delores Wllcox, Albert Schmldt and Evelyn Glraud became part of the happy gang that year That was the year thlngs started poppm Our bxggest campalgn was sellmg sweat shirts and proud we were when our campalgn proved successful We really would have been lost 1f it hadn t been for our advlsors who worked Just as hard as we did perhaps harder at tlmes As Jumors wlth Rlchard Fox as a new classmate, we went right to town, starting our card selling campalgn It may have been hard work but after all look at the profits However, our really b1g affalr was the Jumor Prom Everyone worked especlally hard for thxs Flnally the b1g mght came The theme was Blue Heaven, and Larry LaViola supplied the muslc Everything was lovely especlally our Queen Barbara Chase and the king Larry Sherwood Compllments were glven left and rlght about dec oratlons gowns and the Prom as a whole We d never have made lt lf xt hadn't been for Mrs Munson and Mr Grow once agam our advlsors Fmally, 1n 1952 we reached our goal we were semors We can now look back and see that the dreams of our Freshman year have been fulfllled Jlm Bromley left our class leavlng twenty four seniors to don caps and gowns ln June Mr Bocko our patlent adv1sor, deserves a medal for guiding us through our fmal fling at hlgh school We sponsored several dances and our Semor Movles every Wednesday helped feed our treasury whxch was suffermg from malnutrlclan at the begmning of the year Our maga z1ne sale was a great success and fmally our yearbook After weeks of worry and work the dummy was completed under Mr Crounses fme supervlslon We are now lookmg forward to our New York trlp and that welcome mght when twenty four semors w1ll become men and women of the world 26 . , . i , . . . g . .
