CLASS HISTORY Way back in 1941 we started our career as high school students under the direction of Miss Costello, now Mrs Martin Reap Most of us took General Science, not because we wanted to, out because the suoject w s required All of us received practlca ly tie same marks in that subject Couldn't be that our seats were too close together in that class? Could lt? Durln our Freshman year we lost some of our students Robert Swift Edward Butkowsky Clarence Llnville, and Wayne Thorn, these boys all cult school to go to work Sophomore Ye r Well, vacation was over and we were back in school as Sonhomores We were under the leadership of Mr Piddock this year and he did very well supervising Joe Tesar decided he liked Whitney Point better so he left, along with Johnny Whit beck, Earl O'Brlen and Marie Swift Every one enjoyed himself at our skatin parties especially Mr Plddock We also had an enjoyable class picnic at the Chenanvo Valley State Park It was September 7th of this year that Jean Hunter became engaged Junior Year Here we were in our Junior year Boy' We really were getting some where Just think' Only about forty two more weeks and we would be the horored Seniors We were very pleased to have Miss Munson as our class advisor tnls year Greeting cards were sold by the class and the profits surely made our treasury look mucd better I was in this year too that we received our class rings and we were all very proud to be wearing them James Gallagher and Donald Reese participated in the Senior play Poor Little Me' Kay Hamlin received her engagement ring Our number had now dwindled down from thirty two, to about eighteen Where was everyone going? It must have been the war that attracted the attention of most of the young men in our class Senior Year It can't oe true but, yes, it is' We are now the honored Seniors Our teachers tell us we must set an example for the rest of the school out, uoretty please kids N don't copy us' If you do you'll be in a mess all the time There are now sixteen of us in our class Our one post graduate left in January This year we sold magazines and stationery Our Senior play, The Green Tight, directed by Miss Close, was very successful A great deal of acting ability vas shown oy the cast We have had cults a few square dances and several vie dances Everyone seemed to have had a good time at these parties The plans for our boat trip to Detroit gave ts much to anticipate Phyllis Hitt enburg and Lois Van Dusen became engaged Jimmy Gallagher had an operation Don Reese and Carlton Davis vied for top honors in basketball We sponsored a yearbook this year under the leadership of Carlton Davis, Editor in Chief We added mlscellanfous features and increased the size of the book Now at graduation time the only thing we can say is that we are very proud and happy to is Seniors and we wish the class of '46, who will succeed us, all the luck in the wor We wish to thank Miss Kilquist, our Senior advisor, for all the help she as given We also thank Miss Guenther and Mr Oakes, assistant Senior advisors, for their help during this year Historian g 2 Z Za CLASS POEM Aloha' By a river in a valley, With the hills encircled near Proudly stands our Alma Mater- For thee we raise a cheer We've learned lessons and athletics All through the precious years Many friends have met and parted With pleasant smiles and tears.
