l The EL DELATOR staff engages Dr, Greene in an impromptu dialogue after his speech to the CHS student body. '0w1W I DR. LAWRENCE F. GREENE Superintendent, Cheltenham Township Public Schools Dr. Lawrence F. Greene recently made his debut in the Cheltenham scene as Superintendent of Schools. Fortified with his Boston education and experience abroad, he brings a new perspective to school district administration. After several years of participation in the educational field, Dr. Greene has formulated certain attitudes concerning the importance of the individual in the educational environment. He emphasizes the importance of a personalized education in which the student is able to develop fully his abilities. In a personal address to the student body at CHS he stressed the necessity of retaining one's individuality in a highly mechanized and group-oriented environment. Dr. Edwin Keim sets the Our Principal's knowledge and experience contribute to a high standard of performance which encourages the students of Cheltenham to channel their diverse talents in a meaningful direction. After being graduated from West Chester State College and the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Keim entered his professional career by teaching in various secondary schools and colleges. In 1954 he assumed the position of Principal of Cheltenham High School. To supplement his immediate responsibilities at Cheltenham, Dr. Keim has participated in school evaluations, surveys, educational meetings and conventions. He has served as an executive ofiicer as well as a committee member in both the Pennsylvania State Principals Association and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. He has contributed numerous theses to the field of educational researchg these studies explore such areas as The Secondary School Principalship Today and The Challenge of Above Average Students in the Senior High Schoolsf, Despite these multiple aiiiliations and responsibilities, Dr. Keim is able to devote time to alumni associations and other civic and church affairs.
