President John Whiteley Government by the People gf!- ff gf' Mr. Joseph Guorner Student Council's gavel this year was found in the capable hands of John Whiteley, who, assisted by vice-president John Young fsuccessor to Doris Askeyl, secretary Dottie Jones, and treasurer Margaret Lemon, worked to produce an outstanding executive committee and council year. The long-awaited scoreboard was installed in the gym through the organization's efforts, while homerooms, under Council's su- pervision, sponsored such projects as the lunch wagon at football games, Tag Day, and the Turn-About Dance. The organization's committee system was a prime factor in maintaining order around CHS. The Social and Assembly com- mittees provided entertainment, while cleanliness was supervised by the Lunchroom and Property committees. The l-lomeroom Committee kept homeroom spirit ata new high, andthe attractive decorating of the Bulletin Board Committee was really commend- able. Discipline onthe stairs, enforced by the Safety Committee, gave CHS many reasons to praise Student Council throughout the year.
