One of Cheltenham's most outstand- ing courses is the curriculum offered by the Industrial Arts Department, uniaue in the number of courses offered, the facilities, and some of the special fields Housed in the beautiful modern building on our campus is a world of its own, for here four men teachers reign supreme, offering their talents to the students. The art course of Mr. l-loopes gives Cheltenham students a chance to learn jewelry-making and gem-grinding, two subjects rarely offered in public high schools. Along with these, drawing and sculptoring are taught, besides com- mercial art. Mr. McCormiclc's mechanical draw- ing room is a fascinating place, for here one can see student projects such as model houses and original blueprints. Mechanical drawing may be taken as a major, for the extensive course also covers tracing and printing, besides posters and testimonials. Metal shop students, under the direc- tion of Mr. Acker, learn to work with all types of metals and dies, while Mr. Kunkle's wood shop pupils are taught the manipulations of machinery for projects in wood.
