As Dr. Ashby's secretary, she is assisted in her multitudinous tasks by new- comers Joanne Biernbaum, '48, who helps Mr. Lehman and puts out the morning bulletin, and Mrs. Mary Lev- ering, Dr. Gould's secretary. Across the hall, Mr. Richard Miller, assistant secretary of the School Board, directs business details in the administration office, and with Cath- erine Cuneff, Mr. MilIer's secretary, Catherine Barbone, Dr, Ketler's secre- tary, and Margaret Irwin, busy switch- board operator, handles the records of all Cheltenham Township schools. Always prepared to clean teeth or stop that toothache, Dr. Harry A. Yutzler gives each student an early dental checkup and holds a clinic once a week. Hygienist, Mrs. Jacqueline V. Wharton, '47, helps him calm a pa- tient's jittery nerves and make out dental charts. Mrs. Edna B. Hicks, Cheltenham's chief temperature-taker and bandage- wrapper, teaches home nursing classes with Mrs. Anna Allen. Mrs. Hicks di- rects all health services in Cheltenham Township. Dr. William E, Brown handles physi- cal checkups every other year by test- ing tickers and seeing whether reflexes still jump. The ladies of the ladle: Mrs. Ethel Kromback, cook, Mrs. Cora Kohler, Miss Ella Mulligan, and Mrs. Harriet Watkinson dish out food to anxiously awaiting students at lunch time. New to the school this year, Mrs, Smedley Russell, as dietician, directs the kitchens and plans the menus for all the township schools. Leslie Rhoodes, lsoac Woyns, Mrs Laura Carlson, day ionitors, and Wil- liam Rhoades and Alonzo Bailey, night ianitors, can be found cleaning the halls, rooms, and lockers at all times of the day, As maintenance director, Mr. Ken- neth Haslam manages the janitors and has charge of keeping the school plant in good shape. Guarding the building from any night prowlers, night watchman Felix Donnelly says good-bye to each one leaving the building and always asks, This your last year?
