LONGFELLOW SCHOOL HIGH SCHOOL H SOWERS, P J N B M NTOSH SCHOOL - MARY F CHELSEA PUBLIC SCHOOLS cH'Z1'5I'lf'Z,Tl.. ,,,, I February 26, 1945 'A Aqmo Students of Chelsea Public Schools Chelsea, Oklahoma Dear Students: The Chelsea Public Schools ha ve already enlisted for the duration. Our board of education, school officials, teachers, and students are more earnestly doi ng our part to help win the war. Every true American is seeking to find his post, take his place, and do his bit in this great cause. There is a place for everyone. Many have found that place in uniform of the armed services. Many are working in the industries turning out war mater- ials. Many others, however, must and should continue their present activities. Doing your school work well islthe r t ' g ea est servlce our students and teachers can perform for their country. Some of our work lacks the former glamour and adventure. However, such tasks must be done. It falls to the lot of many of us to help perform them. To go AWOL from our school tasks is as serious to the ene 1 g ra welfare of our country as absence-without- leave from the armed forces. It is my sincere desire that each of you will serve well in some u f se ul vocation and live a happy and successful life. Congratulations to the Student Council who is responsible for publishing this school annual, and I wish to thank the teachers and other school organi- zations for their help in making it a grand success. Uncle Sam has already called for many of our students from Chelsea, and before this war is over, he will have called for many more. My heart goes out to these young people ---good luck to you, and may you return, safe and sound, with the satisfact- ion that you have done your job well. Sincerely yours, f!iiihur Clark
