BSfe’ ;t m iga FACULTY The Class of 1987 has many people to thank for their help and contributions. No one person, however, has done more for our class than Ms. Mary Guerriero. When junior year came and we found ourselves without a class advisor, Ms. Guerriero willingly offered to help us out. She gave new ideas, spirit, and inspi¬ ration to the officers and every member of the class. Through her hard work, we were able to organize the first Senior Council in C.H.S. history, and we went about yearbook sales in an entirely dif¬ ferent and most productive way. Her devotion and enthusiasm will forev¬ er be remembered. Ms. Guerriero, THANK YOU! ! ! ! ! With Love and Appreciation, The Class of 1987 i J. Frank Herlihy I Superintendent V i y I! 1 u f To the Class of 1987: Congratulations! Your family, friends, teachers, and administrators of Chelsea High School are proud of your accomplishments. The very best to every one of you. OUR DEDICATION_ As we began our first year as Chelsea High students, three very dedicated and hard working people also marked their beginning as Chel sea High administrators. Mr. Mauro, Ms. Raimo, and Mr. O’Donnell have executed their responsibil¬ ities as administrators most efficiently. The Class of 1987 is very proud of the fact that it is graduating with the same headmaster and sub-masters that it started with. We feel fortunate to have had such tremendous guidance through four very rewarding, but difficult years. Although it might not be said too often.THANKS! With much appreciation, we, the Class of 1987, dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Mauro, Ms. Raimo, and Mr. O’Donnell for all that they have done, not only for our class, but for everyone at Chelsea High. These social outlets provide the students with op¬ portunities to interact outside of a classroom setting. All of us can sit at a desk and study, but those that participate socially truly learn that there is some to school than just books! A FUN-FILLED MONSTER MASH October 31, 1986, was a day in which the class of 1987 truly felt unique and special. The participation of all of the seniors was AWESOME!!!!! Witches, bumble bees, and monsters could be seen traveling throughout the corridors of C.H.S. all day long. At the end of the day, the seniors attended an ice cream catered party in the cafeteria, and “secret boos” were later passed out to the entire student body. Special prizes were given out to Lydia Acevedo, (upside-down man), and Melissa Seroka, (Oscar the Grouch), for their VERY original costumes. The place - Caruso’s Diplomat. The Chelsea High School Junior Prom was an event that will long be remembered. Multi¬ tudes of limousines and cars drove many anxious young adults that night to the entrance of elegant Caruso’s. Everyone had a great time dancing all night to music provided by D.J. Bill Costa, from KISS 108 FM. Although the night flew by fast, all present agreed that the evening was a huge succ ess, and that they hoped the Senior Prom would be just as FABULOUS!!!!.(To be continued) 41 nrwnH—rim ■ ? til: Student Council ■vv.vt Senior Council 44 Kneeling l-r: Erin Delaney, Lisa Pitts, Justyna Oles, Susan Cimino, Karen Cardarelli. Through sun and rain, the Chelsea High School Varsity Cheerleaders weathered every game of the season with pride and spirit. No matter how rough things looked out on the field, they cheered, smiled, and tried their best to inspire the Red Devil team. Combining stunts and dances into their regular routines, the cheerlead¬ ers did an outstanding job, as usual, in entertaining crowds at rallies and games. Hopefully, this spirit will continue in years to come and prove that girls DO play an important role in school sports. Nobody forced them to play sports; they decided of their own free will. What they gained in the process was the value of sportsmanship, self¬ pride, school-pride, and the respect of the entire CHS student body. Hats off to all of you!!! SPORTS CROSS COUNTRY Once again, the boy’s Cross Country team was comprised of a few, but very dedicated and hard-working athletes. Throughout the entire season they practiced diligently, and proved that quality IS better than quantity. As expected, the seniors provided advice, guid¬ ance, and inspiration. Led by senior tri¬ captains Richie Harris, Nestor Lopez, and Joe Smith, the Devils excelled in every as¬ pect of play. With an unbelievable record- the last twelve games were ALL wins- the Mighty Devils captured the GBL Champi¬ onship and once again traveled to the state tournament. Each success was a total team effort with great contributions by seniors Chris Jones, Chris Cooper, Jimmy Velesta- gui, and Robert Laffey. Guys, you were AWESOME!! There were the hard times: no advisor, little participation and hardly any money. But then again, there were the fun times: car washes, ski trips, dinner dances and proms. Each year that went by brought every member of the class closer together. In a community that often gets knocked down, the Seniors learned to appreciate other cultures and expe¬ rience four valuable years that other students may never get a chance to experience. The Class was led by four very capable and hard-working people. They gave of themselves whenever asked, and they worked dili¬ gently to make Senior year especially memorable. The officers carried out their responsibilities for the benefit of the entire class so that in ten years from now, each Senior can look back and say, “Those were GREAT times!!!!!
