We deeply appreciate the work they have done for us. A special debt of gratitude, however, goes to Mrs. Maryellen Mulligan. She dedicated three years to the Class of ’84, showing the utmost devotion, enthusiasm, and responsibility as an advisor, a teacher, and as a friend. Mrs. Mulligan was blessed with a child in the summer of ’83, and had much more responsibilities. Consequently, she had to step down as our advisor. For all she did in her three years as advisor, the Class of ’84 is most grateful. We would like to wish her and her family nothing but happiness. The Class of ’84 would also like to extend its appreciation to Ms. Mary Guerrero, who graciously volunteered to advise us in our final year. Her concern and unselfishness did not go unnoticed by the Class of ’84 and we wish to thank her very much. J. Frank Herlihy Superintendent Dr. Herbert A. ACTIVITIES Tired of the boring classroom routine? Well, relax, it’s 2:15 and school is out for the day. What will you do now? Will you head home, grab your favorite chair, and sit in front of the television set? Why not do something more exciting like getting involved in one of the activities available at Chelsea High? If less strenuous activities are for you, you can try one of the many clubs and organizations. These include many different areas and interests. There are so many things to do that some people just can’t decide which one to chose. You can always spot them be¬ cause they are always dashing off to one club or another. Senior, Junior Prom June 3 1983 For most of the Juniors, it was their first prom. As they entered Montvale Plaza on the third night of June, you could see their nervousness unsuccessfully concealed be¬ neath their happy expres¬ sions. Everyone looked great, and was ready to have a good time. It certainly was avail¬ able. The music was excellent and just about everyone danced. This proved to be a little difficult due to the small dance floor. Happily, this was the only flaw in an otherwise beautiful evening. You’re probably thinking that October 31 is just like any other day at Chelsea High, right? Wrong! On that day, you can never quite be sure just what you’ll see parading through the halls. You may see anything from superheroes to famous people, to animal characters. Some costumes may be familiar, while others may not be so easily recognized. Senior Dress-Up Day allows the students to be creative, while expressing some hidden part of their personal¬ ities. Just make sure you know who it is that comes up to you and says “Boo!” First place Third place 32 Second place nun JAZZ CLUB First, 1-r: Lorraine Triolo, Ann Stec, Jeanine Hensey, Julie McLay, Amy Gordon. When things look bleak and spirits are low and the crowd is d own and out, its TIME for our super cheerleaders to do their thing. I at my table, along with my date Sat watching the dancers who all looked so great. The records were spun by a D.J. who knew That the kids wanted disco, and rock music too. As 1 left I heard someone exclaim quite by chance, “Happy evening to all, hope you had a great dance!” ’Twas the 16th of December, when all through the gym You could hear a boy ask a girl to dance with him. SPORTS What good is the educated mind without a well- toned body to keep it in! At Chelsea High, stu¬ dents have ample opportunity to tone their bodies by participating in one of the many sports offered. Our athletes always show a great competitive spir¬ it on and off the field. Sports offer them an oppor¬ tunity to enjoy themselves, stay fit, show pride in their school, and experience the thrill of competi¬ tion. It wa§ a difficult season for this gridders. SENIORS What does it take to be a successful senior? For one thing, you must know what is expected of you by your teachers. If you have reached your senior year, you have obviously met this requirement. Being a senior involves setting an example for the underclassmen. These kids look to seniors for guidance and assistance. A senior should have some idea of the direction his life will take. He should be aware of the effect that this year will have on his future. Above all else, the successful senior has strong beliefs that his class is the best ever to go through a school. There is great pride and unity among the senior class. You see here the great class of 1984 full of successful seniors, who have made it at Chelsea Hig h School. Niola M. Though our friends are important and nice to recall, Don’t f orget any favor, no matter how small. Remember the boy in your Algebra class, Who helped with homework so that you could pass. Remember the shy girl with pencils to lend, The teacher who helped you for hours on el _ Remember who picked up the book that you dropped, The friend who would push you whenever you stopped. Remember who cheered for our team, though in vain, Remember who helped to fl make geometry plane. Remember our school, long may it stand, Remember the staff, we should give them a hand.
