DU MAURIER We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over. Samuel Johnson HR 101 HR 105 HR 102 HR 103 12 HR 106 A faithful friend is a strong defense: and he that has found such a one has found a treasure. A faithful friend is the medicine of life. Forsake not an old friend; for the new is not comparable to him: a new friend is as new wine; when it is old, you shall drink it with pleasure. B. J.S As the year ends and we look upon all we have done and accomplished, we can give ourselves a pat on the back. When we think of all the people we have become friends with, we smile. For those who have turned against us, we can only hope we all see our mistakes. We have moved closer to some and farther from others. We have gained new values and morals, all of which make more sense to us now that we’re one year older and one year wiser.
