LITERARY CLUB CREATIONS There are many roads to follow, Countless paths from which to choose, As we stand here, prepared To embark upon our journey. We are only at the edge Of the wilderness; What lies ahead, beneath the trees, Is a mystery to us all. We shall choose our separate paths At this moment in our lives, And each shall take his own; And if, by chance, we find Those roads to cross, We may rejoice in the moment And share the future As we have the past. Lewis DeSimone Memories for some: smoking , . . getting high . . . fake ID’s . . .? y r0 f cutting class . . . flunking out . . . getting detention . . . three days suspension. Memories for others: working hard then getting that “A” . . . the prom ... the 50 ' s and square dances . . . National Honor Society . . . our ‘Gong Show’ . . . joining clubs . . . cheering our team. How quickly the years fly past! We look ahead with hope — to college, to a new job, to a new beginning and our first class reunion! Martha Shaw The last man grasps his scroll as the dean moves his tassle To all congratulations, may your lives be free from hassle The caps go flying towards the sun, hands clap; augmentation Mothers cry and fathers smile, all rise; a standing ovation Looking to my buddies now, all smiles yet hiding tears For we have seen each other grow for one to many years “No more quiet studies, John. Remember all the fun Think I’ll miss that study hall; that and everyone.” Only now I feel the loss of security that has gone Who will tell me where to go or what is going on No one left to show me how or teil me what to be No one here to ask me now, no one here but me.
