Life today demands people who are physically and mentally fit. Automobiles and other modern conveniences discourage the desire for physical exercise. The people look to the school to supplement the little exercise received in daily life. Miss Reba Painter and Mr. Henry McCarthy help stu¬ dents get the exercise so necessary for good health. There are many sports that are enjoyable as well as healthful that are played in physical edu¬ cation classes at Chelsea High School. These are basketball, line hockey and tennis. We hope that the fine pointers for keeping in shape learned at Chelsea High School will not be quickly forgotten. Upper: S-T-R-E-T-C-H Lower: Air raid! 28

manual training Many of our boys have become proficient in a diversity of trades due to the fine training re¬ ceived in our Industrial Arts Department. Carpentry is taught under the dilligent super¬ vision of Mr. Savino Morelli. There are many job opportunities in the field of auto mechanics. Mr. Arthur Hagan prepares the boys for these jobs. Mr. Barnett Freedman instructs students in the proper application of printing techniques. All of these boys will have an excellent foun¬ dation in Manual Training. Chelsea High School will produce some of tomorrow’s best craftsmen. Upper: What’s wrong, Kenny? Center: A situation for Ajax! Lower: Now hold it steady.
