English is a required subject at Chelsea Senior High School. Fortunately, we have a fine teach¬ ing staff. They endeavor to make English as enjoyable as any elective. Mr. Stewart, our high¬ ly qualified department head hasten very capable teachers. During our high school years, we are exposed to the works of the world’s greatest authors. The effective teaching helps us get the most out of these great works both culturally and academi¬ cally. A proper command of English is an important qualification for any job. Our commercial course English teachers thoroughly prepare our students for their future positions. To take our place properly in society, we must be able to communicate with others. Oral compo¬ sitions and class recitations give us constant practice in the art of conversation. At some time during everyone’s life, it is necessary for one to indulge in written correspondence. The practice we receive at Chelsea Senior High School in writing letters will prove invaluable. The fine training in English received at C.H.S. will be an important factor in future success. Upper Left: Mr. Stewart isn’t really as stem as he looks.
