-ML Imagination and creativity are the key words in our art classes. Whether a student possesses innate artistic talent or not, Mrs. Lottie Morrison, our most capable art teacher, helps each student develop his individual ability. Those who wish to make art their career receive excellent training in the fields of drawing, fashion, advertising, layouts and lettering; they also learn the prin¬ ciples of dimensional design, color and perspective. The Art Department is responsible for the delightful posters which announce our school events and the art work which graces our Beacon. Mrs. Morrison also instructs the mechanical drawing classes, a more technical aspect of art training. Here the boys prepare for possible careers in specialized areas of drafting. V Music appreciating harmony The purpose of our music appreciation course given by Mr. Alvin Toltz is to present to the students an example of the works of the great masters and to learn to appre¬ ciate their creative genius. The students also become familiar with the types and classes of musical instruments. My next selection will be from Chopin. 31
