They won four games out a fair of ten and tied one. One ofthe surprises of the season was a ball game in hail. The team had a,little help this year when Mr. Louk umpired a game with Water- ville. Even though the season wasn't too good, they had a good time. These gay rounds of games which take place during the year are under the direction of Miss June Johnson The manager for this season was Merry Ann Elgin. Volleyball started the season off for intramurals. The ball flew fast and furious before the top senior team composed of Margie Crill, Betty Dimick, Merry Ann Elgin Marilyn I-Iarn Deanne Lindsey, Helen Perry, Erleyne Pitts, and Charlotte Zornes was declared the winner. 'Smash it' Get it over' Our point! was heard on the gym floor early dur ing the winter season as the badminton tournament got under way. Winner of the singles tournament was Leatrice Pitt, beating Kathy Dimick in two close games Lois Bottger and Carolyn Eichhorn showed fine form while defeating Kathy Dimick and Leatrice Pitt for first place in doubles. There was much excitement in the gym when the basketball games started in January for the girls Swish' A basketball goes neatly through the rim as the five teams the Sharp Shooters the Hot Shots, the Flying Saucers, the Champs and the Dribblers fought for first place. The Dribblers finally came out on top after wmning the round robin tournament. Margie Crill, captain, Betty D1m1ck Merry Ann Elgin Erleyne Pitts, Marilyn Harn, Deanne Lindsey, and Charlotte Zornes made up the winning team. Softball the spring sport for girls, had four teams this year. Because of a short rainy season three teams tied for first. 'WS ZS! Q. uv swwegy
