Lorraine Hart lgal I One of the most active organizations in the school, The Future Homemakers of America, held their initiation and installation September 15. Other activities followed in rapid success- ion. A panel meeting was held in Entiat on Oct- ober 19, while a regional meeting took place in Brewster on October 25. The F. H. A. attended the Chelan Meth- odist church as a body on October 24 in observance of F. H. A. week. December 20 the F. H. A. went carol- ing with the F. F. A. Several members attended the area meet- ing at Entiat April 20. On May I8 the F. F. A. -- F. H. A. con- ference and picnic was held in Twisp. During the year the F. H. A. members U served at three banquets.

Morgan The Chelan Chapter of the National Honor Society opened a busy season with the installation of officers at a banquet held October 27. On November I5 nine persons were tapped for membership in the society. A progressive dinner was held February 3. A delegation of five society members and the advisor gave the installation ceremony at the charter meeting of the Manson Honor Soci- ery, April 4. Three new members were tapped April 26. At a dessert held at Mrs. Morgan's May 16, the new honor society officers for next year were installed.

Charlie Card The Chelan chapter took active part in various judging contests throughout the state including the Yakima Fair, Spokane Ir. Livestock Show, Auburn Livestock Show, Okanogan County Fair and the Chelan County Fair. The livestock judging team was made up of Martin Tester, Paul Swanson, Bob Watson, Bill Emerson, Dale St. Luise, and Jerry Crill. The poultry judging team--Delbert Dietrich, Karl Dietrich and Greg Vamey--placed first in the county. The vegetable judging team with Richard Kress, Bill Emerson and Joe Bagwell placed first in the co unty. In tractor driving Larry Heyen and Jerry Crill placed first and second in the county and Jerry placed third in the dis- trict. Richard Kress placed first in the sub -district public speaking contest and third in the district. Charlie Card and Danny Payne represented the chapter at the district cooperative marketing contest held at Ellensburg and placed third and fourth. Charlie Card attended the annual F.F.A. convention at Pullman March 31 to April 3. Danny Payne re- ceived the Kiwanis Project Plaque, Roger Oules received the Star Chapter award, Martin Tester the Wash. State Bankers Award, Dale St. Luise the Farm Mechanics award, Richard Kress the public speaking award, and Dale Zomes the freshman jacket award. Bob Watson won Reserve Champion on his hereford steer at the Chelan Co. Fair. Howard Hayter received Grand Champion award for best rabbit in the show at both Cashmere and Waterville Fairs. Paul Swanson received a blue ribbon on his hereford heifer. Danny Payne will represent the Chelan Co. F.F. A. chapters at a Range Managecamp to be held at Loomis, Washington, June I9-25. The apple judging team of Richard Kress, Karl Dietrich, and Jerry Crill placed third in the state apple judging contest. 25
