Waaqfwtaaq KINDERGARTEN Thrrteen years ago rn September of 1942 we the class of 1955 were born Truda Craddock Merry Ann Elgrn Marrlyn Harn Kathleen Jensen Helen Perry Stanley Boyd Paul Bryant Charles Card Roger Oules Mrchael Paul Martrn Tester and Ronald Vogler were all a lrttle wrde -eyed and currous as the wonders of educatron began to unfold Only these twelve of the orrgmal 56 are strll wrth us FIRST Our number rncreased by seven thrs year as Roger Ault Thomas Arnold Celra Venneberg Larry Goedde and Charlotte Zomes 1oxned us MarJor1e Cr1ll also entered but wrthdrew at the end of the year We held a pet show for our parents and were qulte enthusrastrc about the grfts we made w1th lrttle saws to grve to our mothers on Mother s Day SECOND Kathleen Jensen Helen Perry Stanley Boyd Ray Foster Martm Tester and Iack Caddy went to further therr educatron rn Lakesrde As we reached thrs mrlestone Fay Clark Darlrne Cushen and Huston Prtt entered Mrs Drape always had a prrze for the frrst one to s1t correctly rn hrs seat after recess and although not so sought after there was nearly as much competrtron for the bottle grven to the babres and the tall for the tattle tales THIRD Along wrth hrgher leamrng came fun for all thrs year as we enyoyed rhythm dances and a hrke to Star Rock Huston Prtt left us and Paulrne Tackett Shrrley Oaks Erleyne Prtts and Carl Kjobech yorned us FOURTH Irm Pollock entered Margre Cnll and Huston Prtt retumed and Marrlyn Harn Charlre Card and Carl K1obech left us th1s year Rock salt was the rage and we recerved our frrst formal study of the hrstory of our state as well as South Amerrca FIFTH We put on a hobby show thrs year and our own Pnncess Celra was chosen queen of the camrval sponsored by the band to rarse funds for new unlforms Gayle Rodgers and Jerry Falkenberg entered SIXTH Thrs was our frrst year rn the new grade school burldrng and classes put up wrth much hammertng and drrllmg unt1l ll was frnally completed Esther Morlcal Darlene Stafford Gary Gocke and Deanne Lrndsey entered Retumrng from Lakesrde and brmgrng Charles Krbby wrth them were Kathy Jensen Helen Perry Stanley Boyd Jack Caddy Martrn Tester and Ray Foster Also retunrlng was Carl Kjo bech SEVENTH Marrlyn Harn returned and Marlene Blessrn entered as we advanced to the brg burldrng Agarn classes were drsturbed by constructron norses as the new gym was berng completed But perhaps rt helped our basketball team eam 1ts frrst county champronshrp EIGHTH Helen Perry left us and our team once agam placed frrst rn the county basketball tournament Each home room sponsored an assembly for the 1un1or hrgh Can we ever forget Huston Prtt as Madame La Messa P NINTH Ian Scott entered A melodrama Curse You Jack Dalton was much enloyed by the class and proclarmed a success by the audrence We were the frrst class rn Chelan's hrstory to w1n the county basketball champronshrp all three years havmg lost only one game rn that perrod TENTH We were a lrttle proud and cocky as we entered our frrst year m hrgh school but the semors soon put us rn our place and once adyusted we had a very emoyable year Davrd Peebles Nola Faye Worley Terry Chnstoph and Betty Drmrck entered Jan Scott left and Helen Perry retumed ELEVENTH Thrs was a year of busy actrvrty as we sponsored the Grrdrron dance and sold popcorn and coffee at most of the ball games The class play Seventeenth Summer and the Iunror Prom Trea sure Island were both very successful and we also won the March of Drmes contest Ian Scott and Charlle Card retumed and Nell Persley left durtng the second semester TWELFTH Thrs our last year was unanrmously proclarmed to thebe best There were twelve semors on our state champronshrp football team two of whom have been selected to take part rn e All Star game next fall.
