We'll remember each 'schoolmate Games and teachers-the first date. Football came with autumn days: Ioy came with the Christmas snow And then spring with merry ways Would set again our world aglow. All these memories mean one thing, And to our minds will always bring The thoughts that made the golden rule ' To those glad days we spent in school. -IOAN BBNDER R rmcipa Boys F I'S'l'IIl1H OCONNITLL Librarian 'Y FTHA RUSSIILL Ifnqlish Adv1sor' Sophomore! The time has gone quickly since that day in September, 1945 when we as sophomores walked with shaky knees into the historic halls of C. I-I. S. That year-1945-45 was new, exciting, and very busy for every- one. Beginning with the never-to-be-forgotten initiation, at which the girls' faces were plastered with flour and the boys made to look like Indian war-chiefs, down to the Sophomore hop, each single event seemed momentous. Our class participated in both the Girls' League and Boys' Club plays that year. During our junior year, members of the class of '48 took part in everything from Chsota, Crimson and Gray, Chehalis, and the Science Club to football, basketball, baseball, golf, and track. How proud we are that during all three years of Senior High School, the male members of our class have been largely responsible for the outstanding accomplishments of C. H. S. in various fields of sports. ' Our junior class was the first in several years to order class pins and rings, of wihch we are duly proud. With How Deep Is the Ocean? as a theme for our Iunior Prom, we climaxed a busy and successful year. At last the final year of our high school career is upon us, As a result of an extensive and complete college guidance course, many of our classmates have already made plans to go on to college. Highlights of this year have been an outstanding job of publication done on the Crimson and Gray, many interesting and versatile Chsota broadcasts, a memorable yearbook, a top performance of the senior play, Stardust and finally-the biggest and best of all Senior picnics, to be followed by inspiring Baccalaureate services and the dignified and most heart- warming evening of all-graduation of the Class of '48 on May 27th. We, the members of the Class of '48, have experienced three glorious years of high school. They are not soon to be forgotten, for they are a part of the heart of each graduating senior. The class feels it necessary to designate themselves from the Sophornores, who are the lower classmen, by selecting a class ring and pin bearing an appropriate insignia, as was done the year before by the upper classmen. All luniors are eligible to proudly wear the class ring or pin A moist important event of the year is the lunior Prom, which enables the class to bring its activities to a climax. The formal occasion is eagerly awaited by all the students Decorations, programs, and refreshments each do their part in making the occasion one of fond remembrance. FIRST ROW, left to right.
