No few people were particularly leaders but the class as a whole, its achievements and its activities, merits prominence. 1 The crowning social event was the junior Prom, with its theme of a hunting lodge-the Senior Ball was not lagging in its SUCCESS. One hundred four in number, it is not the biggest nor the smallest class that has left the school-but it is, without question, one of the best. Leading the class in the sophomore year was Bob Murray, with Dick McGandy president in the junior and senior years. SALUTATORIAN Robert Murray For the first time in eleven years, a boy has attained ranking scholastic honors in Chehalis High School. Robert Murray, who has earned this honor, has a record of 34 A's and 3 B's, or a grade point average of 3905. His extra curricular activities included: student body treasurer, honor society, golf and Phlogistons. Outstand- ing in the journalistic field, Bob was editor of the l9-40 Chehalin. VALEDICTORIAN Audrey Dorning I Audrey Dorning ranked first in the-class of l94O with a record of 32 A's and 2 B's, or a grade point average of 3.94l. She was active in dramatics during her tour years of high school.
