The annual Roman Banquet Again this year the annual Roman banquet held by the club was a huge success. Parents and members ofthe French Club were invited and looked on as students dressed in Roman garb conducted a slave sale. New members were auctioned off in order to boost the treasury. Later, in addition to serving dinner to their own par- ents, they helped serve members ofthe French Club, their mas- ters and the parents of the latter. Entertainment was provided by the French Club singing songs, followed by a skit written by Mrs. Becker and put on by some ofthe first year Latin students. Club members seldom know a dull moment and have certainly proven that Latin is not a dead language! We come to l'3Lll'y Caesar. not to ' ' praise himt' call us a chariot 1, Lu!! Mr. Becker and seven members of the club attended this yearls national convention held at Tulane Univer- sity in New Orleans, along with delegates from forty other states. The five day convention revolved around various scholastic and athletic competitions. The up-coming state J.C.L. convention is to be held at Binghamton University.
