solving a chronic transportation problem. Each year the council makes it a point to rec- ognize and reward those students with outstanding scholastic achievements. After each mark- ing period, honor awards are presented to these deserving young people in behalf of the council. The annual J.S.C. scholarship award, a twenty- five dollar bond, was presented to Jean Lewalskig Barbara Morely, Mike Aschenbrener and Laura Jusczak. The annual Christmas THIC Dance can be chalked up as another one of the Council's many successes. In May, the J.S.C. sponsored the Spring Out, a carnival held each spring in the school gym, followed by a dance in the cafeteria. Spring Out is an event at which many of the school's organizations raise money for their activi- ties. The Junior Student Council, under the direc- tion of Mr. Bifano and his able officers, is dedi- cated to improving all things at Cheektowaga Central, be they social, athletic, or academic. MR. A.
