On being inducted into the Senior National Honor Society, the new member accepts certain responsibilities and privileges. Scholarship, leadership, character, and service form the basis of responsibility. Throughout the year, members are asked to aid in projects of value to our school in accordance with these ideals. Tutoring, serving as guides, typing for teachers, and operating the Paperback Bookstore are some of the tasks which this organization undertakes. Balancing this responsibility of membership, however, are special privileges extended to mem- bers. Barnes SENIOR STUDENT COUNCIL The two maior goals ofthe 1965-66 Senior Student Council were to increase school spirit and at the same time to enhance the image of the Council. A Student Court was formed with the hope of helping to eliminate undesirable student behavior. Working closely with the administration and faculty, the Council inaugu- rated a monitoring system for corridors and lovatories. Other suggestions, too, were made for the improvement of the school. A close rela- tionship was developed between Junior and Senior Student Councils, as they cooperated on such proiects as Dress-Up Days and dances. Buses were provided to away basketball and football games. The last important under- taking was the presentation of the Third Annual Variety Show.
