SPECIAL SERVICES THE CLINIC . . . A well integrated school health program is dependent upon the close cooperation of all those concerned, the child, the school administration, parents, teachers, school and family doctors, school nurse-teacher, speech therapist, psychologist, dental hygienist and family dentist. The aim of the School Health Program is to obtain and maintain the best possible physical, mental and emotional health for all students. These health services include the annual physical examination, subsequent athletic examinations, dental inspection, screening for vision and hearing acuity, emergency first-aid care, and assisting in the immunization program which includes diphtheria, tetanus, polio- myelitis and smallpox vaccination. Recommendations relating to the health needs of students are submitted to parents, teachers and the school administration. THE DENTAL STUDY . . . The National Institute of Dental Research at Bethesda, Maryland, is using their accumulated research information to aid in the prevention of cavities at Cheektowaga Central High School for a second year.
