Dental caries is the most prevalent disease in the United States today. We at the National Institute of Dental Research are dedicated to the scientific effort that will, we hope, provide us with answers regarding the cause, prevention and treatment of the disease. We expect that the new knowledge which we seek will make a substantial difference in the dental health of our population and to the general health of the American people as well. We are especially mindful of the tnportant contribution which Cheektowaga Central High School is making in the current re- search program.
