De Vito, DOWlll'1Q, S- Golombek- MUSIC DEPARTMENT The Music Department added, this year, a new group to its family of organizations, a Boys' Glee Club, consisting of boys in grades nine through twelve. Other organizations of the department are a Junior-Senior High Bandestra Iso called due to the incorporation of strings in the bandl con- sisting of students in grades seven through twelve, a Junior High Chorus consisting of boys and girls in grades seven and eight, a Senior High Girls' Chorus consisting of girls in grades nine through twelve and the Choraleers consisting of a select group of girls in grades nine through twelve. The Band plays for the home football games and the Bandestro plays for the school assemblies and other public programs and meetings. The Bandestra and all the other music organizations prepare for certain pro- grams such as the Christmas Program and the Spring Concert. It is the desire of the music department to expose you to the rich rewards of music-vocal and instrumental. Here you learn not only to express and interpret great music, to become adept in playing an instrument or singing, but far more important, you learn cooperation, character, dependability, sharing, and giving your talents to an organization and school for the rich enjoyment of all. 78
