They have backgrounds very similiar to mine. I came to CCHS eight years age and I am now teaching English II and III and also creative writing. I obtained my B.A. from Belmont College. I live with my husband Tommy Wayne at 812 Lemont, Nashville. In my spare time I enjoy quilting, appliqueing, antiques, gardening, and writing. EFFIE MAE FIELDER I am the librarian for CCHS. I have been teaching 42 years even though it seems like only yesterday that I started. I live in Ashland City with my husband. My outside interests are reading, gardening, fishing, and cats. I obtained my B.S. degree from Austin Peay, and my M.L.S. degree from George Peabody College. I have been a part of the schools of Cheatham Co. all my life either as a student or teacher. No other school could ever mean so much to me as CCHS. Its successes elate me, its failures sadden me, for to me they are personal successes or failures for which I feel a partial responsibility. LUCILLE SYKES This is my fourth year as director of the IMC. This is an interesting job and the students who work with me arc versatile and creative. I think the IMC is an asset to our school and I'm glad I can aid both teachers and students by producing instructional materials. O' DO 18 NORMA MAXEY This is my third year as assistant librarian at CCHS. I taught for half a year at Ashland City Elementary before coming here. Austin Peay is where my B.S. in elementary education and studies in library science were obtained. Reading and basketball interest me, and I love shopping for antiques. Joe and I along with our baby son, Kyle live on Hwy 12 near the school. Teaching is my work because I enjoy working with young people. VERNA SHEETS I came to CCHS to take Mrs. Maxeys' place as assistant librarian. I enjoyed being here. The people in Cheatham County are great and, I hope to return for visits. I live in Nashville now but am moving out of state. I enjoy reading and many other various activities.

WANDA DIEBERT This is my second year at CCHS where I teach in the English field. My husband Richard and I live in Clarksville with our three year old daughter, Susanna. I enjoy all crafts. My B.S. degree was obtained at Austin Peay. I substituted at Clarksville for one year and I find the kids at CCHS are much nicer and better behaved. JOYCE MAYO I graduated from Peabody College with a B.S. and I've taught for thirteen years. My classes are Speech Fundamentals and Drama I and II. East Cheatham is where my husband, our son Zane, and I live and where I formerly taught. I enjoy drama, seeing good plays, and movies. I teach because I enjoy my students and my subject. I like to observe the growth from an immature freshman into a mature senior in the students that I teach. LANGUAGE ARTS I taught part time at MBA before coming here to teach Latin and English. I received a B.A. in Latin from Vanderbilt and an M.S. from U.T. Nashville in educational psychology. My husband, small daughter Katherine, and I live in Nashville with our dog Shamis. Mountain climbing is an activity I like. I teach because it's enjoyable. I get someone else's ideas and a different way of looking at things; it's exciting! ALICE SANFORD LAURA COOPER I believe that education is the most important thing in our society. I hope that I leach more than English; I want to teach my students to be happy and prepare them for society. This is my third year here and I teach English II, English mini-courses, and journalism. I attended both M.T.S.U. and A.P.S.U. Art and sewing (knitting, crocheting, etc.) interest me. My favorite past times are walking, listening to music, and reading. I also enjoy the company of my Siamese cat, Mandy.
