PERRY —SECRETARY MRS. JORDAN —SECRETARY EFFIE MAE FIELDER I am the librarian for CCHS. I have been teaching 42 years even though it seems like only yesterday that I started. I live in Ashland City with my husband. My outside interests are reading, gardening, fishing, and cats. I obtained my B.S. degree from Austin Peay, and my M.L.S. degree from George Peabody College. I have been a part of the schools of Cheatham Co. all my life either as a student or teacher. No other school could ever mean so much to me as CCHS. Its successes elate me, its failures sadden me, for to me they are personal successes or failures for which I feel a partial responsibility. LUCILLE SYKES This is my fourth year as director of the IMC. This is an interesting job and the students who work with me arc versatile and creative. I think the IMC is an asset to our school and I'm glad I can aid both teachers and students by producing instructional materials. DRILL SQUAD MUSIC BROUGHT TO YOU BY DENNIS BARNES CHORUS SPORTS VARSITY FOOTBALL DON'T QUIT Success is failure turned inside out — The silver tint of the clouds of doubt — And you never can tell how close you are. It may be near when it seems afar; So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit — It's when things seem worse that you musn't quit. 133 134 136 137 VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL The basketball team had a slow start this year; but as Coach Rye put it, it was simply because of a few mental mistakes at the wrong time. But they have truly picked up with more work on man to man defense and rebounding. These boys work 10 hours a week and should have a “congratulations for putting forth a tremendous effort. BOYS: GET WITH IT ABILITY ... B-TEAM BASKETBALL B-Team basketball is probably the most slighted sports event in the entire school. I doubt if 30 people in the entire school have ever been to a B-Team game, yet these boys practice as much as the Varsity Team. Coach Rye says it would be beneficial to have a B-Team coach to get more boys ready for Varsity Basketball. GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL The 1974-75 Varsity Basketball Girls can be described in two words with it! Although they haven't won every game they certainly don't stop trying until the buzzer sounds for the game to end. I believe we could be honest in stating that these girls are winners! 146 Annette Bracev itilO'iufsj People the basketball team couldn't do without: (From left to Right) Dorcus Pugh, manager; Donnie Jordan, Coach; and Margaret Gupton, manager. _____________________________________ 1 WRESTLING FRESHMAN BOYS BASKETBALL (Left to Right) Vincent Ballard, William Anderson, Shane McLaughlin, Craig Empson, Tracy Hendricks, Butch Stokes, Langdon Altom, Joe Newson, Ralph Vaughn, Mark Tibbs, and Terill Ogburn FRESHMAN FOOTBALL FRESHMAN GIRLS BASKETBALL 153 FRESHMAN CHEERLEADERS Regina Tidwell Tina Nicholson Connie Berlin Meribeth Maxey Susan Zucker Angela Allen Danila Morris, an assistant editor, is busy at work typing her letter of resignation to our slave-driving sponsor ECHO We of the annual would like to thank those who have helped us in our tightest moments: Mrs. Sykes, Shelia Wilson, and Steve Miller.
