as f A . Q S ' The Public Speaking, De- bating, and Salesmanship Club is designed to prepare its members for a more success- ful and satisfying life. The club helps our members to become more effective public speakers. Today, when one is a good public speaker, he can serve his community in the roles of leadership . When our members learn to debate, they train them- selves to gather all the facts on any given subject before forming public opinion. Our members are given the basic principles of spell- ing in the salesmanship de- partment of our club. Sales- manship is the most potent force in keeping the wheels of industry moving. Club seeks to enable its members to study history and development oflour public schools. It attempts to se- cure information on teaching careers for the members. The F.T.A. tries to uphold the teaching profession in the eyes of the students who are not members . The Club sponsors a Valentine party each year for the faculty . We have taken part in F.T.A. tours of the University of Chatta- nooga. Our paper drives sponsor the activities of the club. LETTERMEN The lettermen are a group of students who have earned a letter by playing football, or basketball, participating in track, being cheerleaders, or being a manager or scorekecper, These lettermen are responsible for keeping the dressing rooms during basketball games and helping in the concession stand when they are needed. Each letterman wears his letter with pride and is proud to be a part of this group. 98
