'I'litlTlll Colonel Creed F. Bates, principal, takes time from his many school duties to talk to Superintendent Derthick in regard to school business. A new figure at CHS this year was Mr. George Henry, aide to the principal. Mr. Henry was front office receptionist, and he was seen daily checking the absentees and those who were tardy. He also kept the activity calendar, and was an official chaperone at all school functions, The school registrar, Miss Ruth Scholze, has as her duties the keeping of all school records, the compiling of all class ratings, and the figuring of all personal and test ratings. To help students with college applications and send grade transcripts of students to various colleges and business firms are a few more of her numerous jobs. Miss Amelia Bazemore, school secretary, is always seen in the office carrying out her various tasks. Among her duties are writing all school correspondence, making all reports to the Southern Association and the state, and changing schedules at the semester. Mr. Conrad Bates, co-sponsor of the Bulldogs, is school treasurer, and Mrs. Nan Martin, Bankers sponsor, is assistant treas- urer. All financial business of the school is under their direction.
