AfTer complering college and Teaching Twelve years in The elemenTary schools oT ChaTTanooga, in T895 she began her inspiring half cenTury oT insTruc- Tion, as head oi The mciThemaTics deparTmenT, as registrar and as dean of girls of This school. So, as a sTudenT, as a Teacher, and more recenTly as Dean EmeriTus, from The beginning of This insTiTuTion until March I4, l948, Miss Trimble was a living conTinuiTy of The school she loved so well. ' '... Many honors came To This ' noble lady. WesTern College, her Alma MaTer, awarded her an honorary degree oT docTor of leTTers. The class ring oT T929 bore her Tacsimile. Dynamos were dedicaTed To her. She was an honorary colonel in The R. O. T. C. In T939 she received The Kiwanis Award as ChaTTanooga's ouTsTanding ciTizen. An oil porTraiT of This greaT lady, presenTed by The Class of 1941, hangs in The living room of The wesT wing oT This building, appropriaTely nanied Trimble Hall. The mosT coveTed award in This school is The Trimble Award. BuT while These and oTher honors eliciT our admiraTion, and The lengTh oT her service was mosT unusual, and her acTiviTy in religious and civic life g, iT was her personaliTy, her radiaTing ChrisTian characTer her sTerlin ualirie T d of This ciTy was ouTsTandin , g q s o min ,and her nobiIiTy of spirif ThaT made her beloved and held in highesT esTeem by Thousands.
