This year’s student council took on many different activities, some of which were highly successful. The harvest and consolidation dances turned out to be huge successes, with the turn out of record-breaking crowds. And the band we picked for homecoming could not have possibly been topped! Our most important endeavor, giving food to the needy over the holidays, was supported by everyone in the school, and gave everyone a sense of accomplishment. Band The CHS band, though small it is, has been very busy this year with a variety of things. They played for boy’s basketball games during halftimes, and on one occasion, got together with the FSW High School band for the Chatsworth vs. Forrest basketball game. This was a great experience for them, as they got to play in a bigger, better equipped band. They, along with the junior high band, also played many songs for the Spring Concert held on March 26. As you can see, the seven freshman members and director, Mrs. Donna Russell, have been very hard at it this year. Top — Lisa Gibson. The livestock and ag mechanics teams competed at the national contests, with the livestock team being only ten points behind first place. At the state level, the FFA won both the milk and meats contests. The FFA also participated in many other local and state activities in livestock, meats, milks, farm management, soils, and ag mechanics. The end of the year brought the annual pork chop barbeque which provided a rough softball game and a pork chop eating contest. SPEECH Top, L. to R. — Bart Bayston, Lisa DeMuth. The staff has worked hard to produce a paper that would capture the attention of its readers. By working together, we have accomplished our goal of writing a successful school paper. This year the Tatler has included interesting editorials, reports, and articles about the school, the students, teachers, and special events. They even held the Traveling Trophy for a while, before finally losing it to Reddick in a close game. Cheerleaders The 1984-85 cheerleaders cheered on the last Chatsworth High School boys basketball team with feelings of spirit and pride. Not only were we the last CHS cheerleaders, but this year also marked the end of several years of cheering together. Disappointments, however, have come our way; being snowbound on homecoming skit day, and the WC competition being called off because of the snow are just a few. But, no matter how many problems, we can say that we will always remember the fun years we spent cheering at Chatsworth High. 39 Coach Wayne Czyz, Michelle Miller, Cindy Flessner, Sarah Weber, Bart Bayston, Doug Dehm, Brenda Sharp, Lisa Larson Baseball “85” p , t Coach Bob Thomsen, Lance Dehm, Randy Ashman, David Lindquist, Darrin Belousek, Mike Moody. It is now 1995 and Doug Dehm is beginning to remember the old days of being at CHS. Doug is a famous centerfold for Playgirl Magazine in New York. He is on his way to work one morning when he runs into a place called “The Secluded World of Eileen.” He decides to be adventurous and steps inside. To his surprise, he sees his old librarian from CHS sitting behind a crystal ball. She tells him to come in and sit down and asks him if she could be of any assistance to him. Doug replies, “Yes, I would like to know what the rest of the graduating class of 1985 is doing these days.” As she looks into her crystal ball, things become clear and Tom Stadler appears. She sees him going down a dirt road and missing a T intersection. The car rolls over and when Tom is found by Brian Koerner, a local farmer, he is in pretty bad shape. Brian takes him to St. Francis Medical Center where Jim Tooley is the only doctor on duty. He is examining him when Teresa Sheppard, who has been assigned to help Jim, walks into the room. He is distracted by her gorgeous figure and accidentally gives him an overdose and Tom becomes gentle and loving, which was very unlike him ten years ago. Next she sees the famous Judy Bat-tey in her art gallery in Beverly Hills with Teri Saxton, her top selling artist. They are planning their next art show for the spring crowd. Moving on to Florida they see Judy Haberkorn Dawson working in her privately owned travel agency. When not at work, Judy can be found spending time with her loving husband, Shane, and their wonderful child, Christopher. They frequently see Lynn Haberkorn of Chicago in one of her newly created fashions. As Eileen looks deeper into her crystal ball she sees Sarah Weber at one of her famous debates which my help her become the first lady President of the United States. Keith Wilken, now a successful veterinarian in Fairbury receives a phone call from the largest hog farm owner in the area, Ann Krones Moody, caring wife of Mike Moody. She is calling to report that Randy Mattingly, her hired hand, has discovered that some of the pigs have pseudorabies. Jeana Durham is the next one to be seen and she is diligently working at Helen Lewis Smith Pavilion Nursing Home with Suzanne Davis. In Jeana’s free time she visits Kurt and Angie Dohman Bachtold, who live in an extravagant mansion in Fairbury which Angie designed herself. They now have a little one on the way which is slowing Angie’s schedule down a bit. Dottie Culkin works at the Dwight Correctional Center and takes classes in psychology on the side. Helen Steidinger is Vice President of Nichols-Homeshield where she is also their one and only computer programmer. Lori Kistler, after getting her degree in child development, is working at Tree Top in Fairbury and Tina Willis is a cosmetologist at her own shop in Forrest called Tina’s Boutique. She has done Heather Locklear’s hair so as you can tell, she is known worldwide. Matt Haberkorn is seen operating his own farm machinery on his own farm near Chatsworth. Eric Guentner has been in the Army since graduation and must be having the time of his life to stay in that long. Gary Dunn is working as a recreational therapist at the Shapiro Health Center in Kankakee. Doug is glad he became adventurous this time because it was nice to find out what everyone has been doing since graduation. Even if these aren’t the goals of some of the class of 1985, we hope they strive for whatever they wish to do and keep the fond memories of CHS in their hearts forever.
