It provides an organization of activities in which students can take part in and enjoy. Among the events of 1981-1982 were: the spook-filled, costumes of the Halloween Dance, our homecoming with the Wonderful World of Disney, the Wimbleton of a C.H.S. tennis tournament, and the interesting talents we viewed year round at the assemblies. Chatsworth 63 BROOKING IWtW On Sunday, April 18, 25 seniors and three sponsors departed for the annual senior trip to Washington, D.C. and New York. All of Sunday and the early portion of Monday were spent on the bus. Early Monday morning the bus arrived in New York City and everyone had a chance to rest and settle in the motel rooms for a couple of hours. That afternoon, we toured Lincoln Center and saw a Radio City Music Hall performance. It was their golden anniversary and the show contained highlights of the past 50 years. Monday night we were free to do a variety of things. Some went for dinner at Mama Leone’s and then most everyone went for a carriage ride and a walking tour of the city. Tuesday proved to be a very exhausting day. Our first “adventure” was cruising to the Statue of Liberty and then climbing to the top. The narrow winding stairway had everyone huffing and puffing. After the Statue, we took a tour through the United Nations Building. On Tuesday afternoon we went to the top of the Empire State Building and this time we were able to use an elevator to reach the top. After that, we were free to do some shopping in downtown New York, with many of us going to the world’s famous Macy’s. After the shopping, we boarded the bus and headed for Washington, D.C. Our first stop there was a night tour of the Washington Monument. Wednesday we toured the Congress, the Capitol, Ford Theater, the National Zoo and Arlington National cemetery. We had our picture taken with Congressman Corcoran at the Capitol. At the National Zoo we were able to see the world famous pandas, Sing-Sing and Ling-Ling. That night we toured the National Archives, the Jefferson Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. While at the Lincoln Memorial we also saw the fireworks being held in honor of the visit by the Queen of the Netherlands. Because of her visit to the White House, no tours were being allowed there. Thursday morning we toured Mount Vernon and then after lunch we went to the Smithsonian Institute. We soon realized that three hours was not enough time there. Later that afternoon we left Washington and headed for Gettysburg. When we arrived in Gettysburg, we picked up our guide and then made a tour of the battlefield. After the tour, we ate supper and then headed for home. Friday morning a very tired group arrived back at Chatsworth. Everyone had a good time, and we brought back many memories of our Senior Class Trip. SGYTTGRGD PICTURES... (MH3Q 1:013( S31IUIS3H1 lO’ HONORS DNY Marie Stork accepts Business Award. PROPHGCY Of 82 When the class of 1982 graduated from Chatsworth High School the graduates all went their own way, but one day, in 2002, they all met again to live out their life’s fantasy — on Fantasy Island. The first one off “de plane” was Todd Bryant. Todd is the star of the new comedy show, MAKE THEM LAUGH. Todd has not made anyone laugh in his last five shows, except for Debbie Rich, who is still giggling and giggling and giggling. As Karl Gillette and Kevin Carlock staggered off the plane, they knocked over lawyer, Scott Aberle. Scott couldn’t decide whether to sue ’em or join ’em in their welcome drinks. Being the good sportsman that Scott is, he decided to join ’em. After the rest of the passengers got off the plane, co-pilots Duane Barrett and Ken Hurt took off, but they didn’t get too far because the plane went out of control and landed in a duck pond. As Kenny radioed for help, Duane fought off all the “chicks.” Meanwhile Eastern Airline hostess, Denise Bayston was at a loss for words. Back on the Island, Brian Feely was playing basketball with the Boston Celtics. In the last game though, Brian had a small accident. He ran into a cheering fan, Corinnc Boruff. Manager Jess Hanna, ran out to help Brian, but needed more assistance. Luckily nurse Lana Friedman was there to come to the rescue. Manager Jess held an ice pack on Brian’s knee, while Lana gave Brian “mouth to mouth.” Brian is doing fine, but Lana is still recovering. Also on the sports scene, pro golfer John Herr is playing in the Fantasy Island Masters’ Tournament. John’s caddy, Chris Sheppard, wasn’t able to participate because he encountered too many water hazards while in the Navy. Early the next morning, all the guests woke up to Tana Steidinger’s aerobic exercises. Due to lack of gravity on the island, Jill Dohman and Janet Zapp were not able to join in. Later in the afternoon, the class went to watch “the ace” race car driver Scott Dchm race in the Fantasy 500. After the first lap, though, Scott got tired of driving and decided to “park” awhile. For evening’s entertainment, a party was scheduled for all the guests. Hostess Donita Lowery, an cx-vollcyball star, was caught “spiking” the punch. The party was successful except for when Joe Weber tripped and fell into a bouquet of “poppies” that was sitting on the table. Paul Hoelscher and his secretary Lori Lambert didn't show up until after the dance started due to working late at his accounting firm. Trudy Fellers and Maureen Murphy were also late, but when they showed up, they stole the show with a song from Alice Cooper. Trudy played the record player, Maureen sang and Joletta Gardner joined in playing the clarinet. Joletta fell off the stage and hurt her leg, but she turned out to be okay. As their stay on Fantasy Island drew to an end, the classmates packed their bags and what have you and returned home to their families and friends. Even though we may not find you on Fantasy Island in twenty years, we still hope that all of you live out your life’s fantasy to the fullest.
