 THE HAPPIEST YEARS’’ It is the purpose of the 1968 Talefeathers to unfold the events of the year as the seasons unfold-fall, winter, and spring. The completed work will be a book of memories— memories of a wonderful year at our alma mater. The seasons were good to Chatsworth High this year. A warm autumn came with football games, the junior play, Homecoming, and Thanksgiving holidays. As winter came, the weather turned colder, and students quickened their paces in happy anticipation of Christmas vacation-the two weeks of calm before the storm of semester exams. We went to basketball games, the senior play, and kept up with the news with the Tatler. Then came spring, and Chatsworth High was at her best. The prom, final exams, and other class activities kept us busy, but not too busy to look toward graduation with mixed emotions. The seniors leave Chatsworth High to go on to college, trade school, or a job. Others stay behind, looking forward to the year they will be seniors. To those leaving, may the 1968 Talefeathers remind you of those happy years. Members of the Junior Talc Feathers Staff 4

ADMINISTRATION Congratulations, seniors! You and your families have every right to be proud of your accomplishments. As the class of 1968 you should have many fond memories of your last year here. The athletic teams and their outstanding records, one of which proved to be the best in the school’s history, the senior play which dampened some of the players, and the trip that was rerouted at the last minute, are just some of the year’s happenings not easily forgotten. Certainly too, 1 would be remiss in my responsibilities if I didn’t try at this last opportunity to pass on a little of my personal philosophy to you. Remember as you pass through life’s stages the word challenge, and don’t be afraid to accept one, for this is the spice of life. Challenges are to be conquered, they are life’s hills to be climbed. And if the hill seems large, think how you will feel when you reach the peak. Life without challenge can be a tiresome way of existence. Again we wish you all the best of everything, and don’t forget your years at Chatsworth High. MR. ROBERT STUCKEY (Superintendent) Four years ago you probably thought that this time would never arrive. Through the combined efforts of the Board of Education, the Faculty, your parents, and you, it has and you find that it’s not the end but the beginning. Each of you is ready to take the next step. Your belief in the existence of a Supreme Being, in a Democracy, and in yourself is all that you need to enable you to take this step. Remember, no one owes you anything but an opportunity.
