This class elected as their officers Leona Jo Kyburz, President, Judy Trinkle, Vice -President, Jack Wilson, Secretary -Treasurer. At the beginning of the 1956-57 school term the sophomore class had 21 students after losing Jim Costello and David Burger. The officers were Carol Jean Branz, Presi- dent, Carl Ford, Vice -President, Larry Neuzel, Secretary, and Bette Jane Irwin, Treas- urer. These sophomores sponsored a Sadie Hawkins Dance on January 23. During this term Beverly Houser dropped out of school. As juniors, this class had a membership of 19 after losing Pauline Tooley and Hildegard Harterle and gaining Mark Monahan, whotransferred from St. Bede's Academy. Twenty lettermen helped gain a shining second place V.V. trophy for the Chatsworth trophy case. Placing on the All-Conference first team were: John Hubly, tackleg Wayne Haberkorn, guard. On the second team were: Tom Whittenbarger, centerg and Tom Feely, fullback. Stanley Anderson gained honorable mention. Tom Feely was selected by his teamates to be captain of this year's football team and Tom Whittenbarger was given the honor of being voted most valuable player. Money making activities for the FFA included a scrap drive and selling hog troughs at the community sale. They also spon- sored four square dances at the C.H.S. gym, the Jolly Sailors provided the music. A girls professional basketball team was acquired by the FFA. The girls played Diller Tile Co. and won not only the game but a good many laughs from the large crowd. In March a joint FHA and FFA skating party was held in Ponatic.
