You are about to embark on an all too brief iourney into a collective experience, an exper- ience which was shared, together and yet separately, by a relatively small number of people occupying a certain position in time and space and no other. Highlights and Iowlights alike were collected, saved, sifted, decided on, and finally presented in this pictorial. Contained in these pages are celluloid images of friend and foe and stranger, a potpourri of events and a single, smile-remembered experience. Herein you will find aged faces, young faces, faces fresh and alert, expressionless faces, carefree faces, and faces grave beyond their years. Here you will see the face of that girl you knew and thought nothing about until you learned she was going steady, of the boy you admired but couldn't or wouIdn't find an excuse to meet, of the person who couldn't wait to leave school and the person loathe tn do so, of the straight A student and of the kid who barely pulled D's. And, as always, you'lI see the nameless person's face whom you know nothing about, and further, who knows nothing about you. Many photographs are posed, some are staged, and a few are direct extracts from life. Some are meaningful and some leave you blank, and so you must glean from them what you can, for this book was intended for the collective You, and You, as with almost everything in life, are left to wander through as best you can. This book is a Time Machine of sorts. lt is intended to be the awakener of memories which, years from now, will be sleeping in the past.
