By doing so, it gave the Chatter Board more time tn pri-pare ilu- C0lllIll9!ll'l'l1l9Xll ffluztlvr. Although there was only one issue of the maga- zine, the regular features such as sports. Up-Beat , This and That , Jokes, and Advice to the Love- lorn equulcd if not surpassed their predecessors in vitality and style. New features such as Mass Murder , and pro-and-con page, and Look W'lto's Here proved worthwhile. Even though there was a scarcity of sugar for candy, the candy-counter was ahle lo carry on its splendid service to the students hecansc of the effort of its manager. John Lukas, and staff. The procedes from the candy sales swelled the activity fund as part of the Challcfs r-unlribulion. The assistance and co-operation of Dr. Jeter, Miss Kelley and faculty was very helpful in the taking ofthe group pictures. For Mr. Bates's photograph- ing of the classes and organizations, we are sincere- ly grateful. The Chatter is indehted tn Mrs. Reiter for her directing the business connected with the Senior pictures. The presence of interested ululerclasslnen points to a bright future for next year's Chatter. Advisory Board The Adsisury Board is an organization com- pri-wd of representatives of the holnerooms, extra- 4-urrivula organizations. and the presidents of the classes. lt nn-els one noon a week to diseuss proh- lems whirh may arise conecming the welfare of lhe svhool and of the student hocly. ll is the Ad- iisory Board whivh is hehind the student guidance program carried on in the heginning of the year. Une of the main johs of the Board is the passing oi' tho hudgets of tht- organizations, the raising of nmney to meet the-se hudgets. and the selling of the Aetivity Tickets which. incidentally. help to raise most of the money. It is the Advisory Board which is behind the C 26 selling of war stamps in sehool. The- Service Flag. the Victory Corps hulletin hoard, and the hulh-tin hoard in the upstairs hall are all a result of the wurk of the Advisory Board. One of the hes! things that the Board has done this your is to huy several war honds for the school vsith a sum of money taken from the inter-communications sys- lcln fund added to that left over from the maga- zine drive. Under Dr. ,Ieter's leadership. the Advisory Board works efficiently and quietly. We are proud to have suvh an organization ht-cause we feel that it is a very real vontrihutiun in the training of students to live in a democracy. D

Mrs. l errueri started right out tcarhing several Spanish dalwes with the use of rastanrts, and unm- plete with the true South American 'oomph.,' Then she rontinuvd into the musical field, teaching songs from various rountries with guitar accompani- ment and an octet supplying the needed harmony. Contarts were made with our South American neighlmrs and later mysterious arrived at our post office. When looking packages the eontents were C 28 exanlinvd, jewelry, leather goods, and glass were found. The tap dancing feet and hursts of song were heard almost. daily aml soon famous Spanish dam'- ers and singers had nothing on us! Girls making original costumes sewed at every opportunity, arl- ists pounced on new ideas for their posters. and saws huzzed as carpenters set to work. The students rolihed their homes of everything from ash trays tu exquisite shawls from these ronntries to place on display. Now our gym will he transfonned into a gay cahre rich in color and tradition for one happy night therehy ending the Spanish Cluh for this year! J
