In fact, one may think of a child as a rocket, carefully being prepared through 12 years of education for take-off day, or the day he grad- uates and starts to explore the outer world about him. The three stages of our educational rocket are l-elementary grades, 2-Jr. High School, and 5-High School, each being equally important in the final take-off. During this past year, rockets and space travel have taken a new look, but we know it is only beginning to show the potential possibilites. We hope the same is true of our seniors. Now, go with us through our developing years and watch for the final take-off after the count down of twelve. DEDICATION As guiding stars are important to navigators to keep them on the right path, so are our parents im- portant in guiding us. When things looked like the darkest night the guiding rayis from our parents have shown through to show us the way. So we dedicate the'1959 Tiger Stripe to our parents with unexpressed gratitude for all their help. .4 5. .1 1-,, CHATFIELD LOCAL SCHOOL -A - B E ig.3Qf235'fjQN Where Bzzzldm Start PERBeffhtn'Q5,i,3y::5g.1.5. 4.?,:TIJ, V. I bear the torch that enlightens the world, fires the imagination of man and feeds the flames of genius. I give wings to dreams and might to brawn and brain. From out the silent shadows of the past I come, wearing the scars of struggle and the stripes of soil, but bearing in triumph the wisdom of all the ages. Man, because of me, holds dominion over earth, air and seag it is for him I leash the lightning, plumb the deep and shackle the waves of ether. I am the parent of progress, the creator of culture and the molder of destiny. Philosophy, science and art are my handy works. I banish ignorance, discourage vice, disarm anarchy. Thus have I become freedom's citadel, the arm of democracy, the hope of youth, the pride of adolescence, the joy of age. Fortunate the nations and happy the homes that welcome me. The school is my Workshop, here I stir ambitions, stimulate ideals, forge the keys that open the door to opportunity, the master of human destiny. I am the source of inspira- tion, the aid of aspiration, for I am Irresistible Power. 'l ' Agn. x x, K F' 'W ' fwgg rl . Q . an MRS. MIRIAM CLADY Bowling Green Grade One MRS. It is listening: fascinated, as we venture through the magic doors of storyland. It is making new friends. It is the relief of recess, of running, jumping and shouting after being subdued for over an hour. It is the good smell of fresh air and the freedom of not having to wear coats on warm days. It is the bottom rung of the ladder for today's assembly of eager, scrubbed faces and toothless smiles, the first step toward the future which so hopefully belongs to them. mg.. fm Hx 1 5 Q5 Jig f' VZ- mgfif 'ef SEVE TH C5I IDIE 5 YEARS TO eo! f' 9 , ft x awww 2 my w hi fs, V 1 1s1:if'f1L V. x-216' K by Q?
