Next to the garage was a lunch room w1th the name of Faye's Place Faye Kanney and Paul were the owners Paul was not 1n town at the t1me because he was playmg a benef1t basketball game 1n Flor1da Paul you know 1S one of the lead1ng professlonals and the lunch room 1s Just an added attract1on The next day was the end of my stay 1n Chatfleld When dr1v1ng back to the a1rport, located on the edge of town a s1gn, Mous1e s Goat Farm caught my attent1on Clyde had a very good year he sa1d It seems he now had 150 goats Wh1le talkmg to h1m h1s lovely w1fe Mar1e brought several temptmg glasses of goat m1lk for me to dr1nk have a contract to s1ng w1th the Metropol1tan Before I could get a plane I had a llttle mlx up 1n txckets and had to see the owner of the a1r lxnes who, to my surprlse was Carl Kalb He had just come back from a vacatlorl 1n Flor1da where he and h1s Wlfe, Helen, and thelr tw1ns had acqulred real sun tans I was relax1ng on the plane wa1t1ng for my d1nner to be served when I r1ot1ced the steward ess looked very fam1l1ar and why not, lt was Joyce Zucker I should have recogmzed her sooner because she had Just sp1lled coffee on another passenger He was a mce look 1ng bachelor, so you never can tell My flnal words are 'God bless each and everyone of my classmates, and may they l1ve happy and prosperous l1ves Slncerely The Class Prophet Bud Slater 26 , , i ' , . . . , ' Il ' I I ' 1 I ' I U ' ' I v ' I then had to leave to return to New York, at the end of this wonderful vacation, where I . . . . , . . . 5 , . u . . Llass Prophecy New York C1ty New York July 14 1965 Dear Mr s Durb1n S1nce we after the past ten eventful years f1nd ourselves at the two extremes of our country New York and Cahforma I should l1ke to tell you about the place of common 1n terest to both of us Chatf1e1d Oh1o On June Z8 I started my vacat1on and dec1ded that th1s year I would go back to dear old Chatf1eld I am very sorry I d1d not get the chance to see you but very happy you had the opportumty to go to Cahforma to make a f1lm on Cook1ng To day for one of the studlos I left New York on a plane at 7 30 A M and got to the new Chatf1eld Axrport before 9 00 I 1mmed1ately went to the nearest hotel whxch had a s1gn 1n front say1ng SHOCK HOTEL, and be11eve me rt was a shock to und lt was Lyle who owned the beaut1ful establlshment After talk1ng w1th h1m for a wh1le he told me he was marr1ed and that he and h1s lovely w1fe Ruth had two daughters It so happened that th1s week there was a celebratlon 1n Chatf1e1d due to the 5th annlver sary of the new Mult1m11l1on Dollar Atomlc Energy Plant I went to the new factory and Just as I was about to walk IH a guard stopped me He was none other than R1chard Schanzenbach After talkrng for a wh1le w1th Toots he told me It was useless to try to get ln but lt mxght be 1nterest1ng to see the new school At the school I found there were many changes 1nc1ud1ng the teach1ng staff M1ss Mary a second Mary told me that 1n her class she had ch1ldren wlth the name of Kalb Shock Tob1n, Rossman and Auck Wrth the help of Mary I was soon on the way to see the parents of these puplls At the Auck farm I met Mrs Auck and Donme showed me all of the new equ1pment and bulldxngs he had It seemed he made h1s money 1n the Chatf1eld Axrport and farm1ng was Just a hobby Later 1n the evemng I dec1ded to go to a restaurant and s1nce The Hlgh Hat was owned by Donnle and Anne Kalb lt seemed to be the place where I should go After secur1ng a r1ng s1de table w1th Donnle and Anne we talked for hours It seemed they bu11t th1s D1n1ng Room whlch hal occome a good 1nve stment The dxnner was planned by the famous d1et1t1an and hostess La Zoa' wh1ch meant noth1ng to me unt1l t was ' La Zoa Elcher' After work Zoa came out and talked vtrth us for a whxle and told me she owed her success to none other than you, Mrs Durb1n The ma1n event for the next day was a breath tak1ng hot rod race It was a thrzllrng e vent from start to f1n1sh wrth the wmnner agam belng our own Toby Raclng was a s1de hne for Toby s1nce he had a large Shell Statlon rn the mam part of town That evemng I stopped at the Shell Statron to talk to Kenneth and congratulate h1m H surpr1sed me by telllng me B111 Leuthold was work1ng for h1m B111 also had done some raclng but gave up because of Toby's compet1t1on Z5 'I .
