Senior Class Prophecy Early in May of 1958, I was busy making my passengers comfortable on one of the American Airline's D-C-6's. When the co-pilot came back to tell me they were having engine trouble, and would have to make a forced landing, I then explained to the passengers what was happening. We then fastened our safety belts. I looked out the window and saw we were circling a fairly good sized field. It wasn't long until we were taxiing to a stop. As we alighted from the plane I noticed a young man running toward us across the field. He had emerged from a beautiful white farm house. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out it was my old classmate, Clem Studer. When the pilot told us we would be there for a while, Clem inivited all of us to the house. He later explained that John Geiger had finally sold him the farm. And he had gradually built all new buildings. He said he was being married in .Tune to a girl from Bucyrus. I guess everything turned our about perfect for Clem. I asked Clem if I could use his beautiful new ford for a couple of hours. He hesitated momentarily, until I assured him I was a much better driver than I had been in 52 . I then drove out to see Mrs. Auck to see if she had received a more recent letter from Dorothy than I had. Dorothy is now living in California. Her busband, Lee, is a hot rod driver out there. After chatting with Mrs. Auck I drove over to talk to Mrs. Leonhart. She said Ruth was a stenographer for some big firm in Detroit. She also said Ruth was engaged to a guy named 'Bill . After bidding Mrs. Leonhart good-by, I quickly headed toward Kreims to see what Joe had done with himself. My this Ford rides nice! Don't believe they put as much tin in them as they used to. How we used to tease Clem about tinny Fords. Ah! memories. ' Well, here we are at Joe iChickieD Kreims. What, .Toe has a home of his own now! Mrs. Kreim says it's a shame I had to miss him. She said, that he just left a week ago with Marcia and the twins for a trip out West. She said they flew out in Joeis helicopter. My! My! How prosperous this class of mine is. Almost forgot to find out what happened to Virgil. That would never do. Well, Virgie was as surprised to see me, as I thought he would be. Virgil tells me he is president of some large plant in Bucyrus: The boys in our class always did say he was such a good class president. Mrs. Kanney told me that Virgil had so many girls she couldn't keep track of the number anymore. Gee, and all those years I thought he was bashful. Well, my time is running short, I have to hurry on to John Mollencopfs. This looks like the place Virgil described. My how nice! Look at that cute little girl in the yard. I asked the little girl if her daddy was home. She said yes, but he was out in the field working. She said her momie was in the house though. Mrs. Mollencopf wanted to send little Barbie for John, but I told her I just didn't have time to wait. She said John owned this farm and that photography was his hobby, I told her I remembered what a kick John got out of taking pictures for our annual back in 52 . Well it's back to the Studer farm for me. I know none of you need to be told what happened to Sammy Gerhart. We all watch his television program. He's slowly taking the place of Milton Berle. Maybe Pm prejudiced but I think he's more efficient. Well Clem has his Ford back, none the worse for its little trip. The plane is repaired now. So bidding Clem good-by, I boarded the plane which is my job, feeling very happy that evertthing has turned out so well for my wonderful classmates. Madelyn Massie 17
