History of Senior Class Twelve years ago in September, 1940, eight small innocent girls and boys walked proudly up the walks to Chatfield School to start their first year of education. Four of these eight have gone through twelve years together. We had as our teacher Miss Heinlein Clater Mrs. Luginbuhll. We all looked forward to the next year of school. We enjoyed coming back to school the second year because it was no longer strange to us. We again were taught by Mrs. Luginbuhl. During the third grade, we had Miss Pauline Green as our teacher. We had a Halloween Party, Christmas Party, and a Valentine Party, during the year. We all enjoyed these parties. Under the watchful eye of Miss Green, we all passed from the fourth grade to the fifth. In the fifth grade we had Miss Wilma Clutter Clater Mrs. Walimirel as our teacher. This was our first year upstairs and it took time to become accustomed to coming upstairs all the time. Under the guidance of Mrs. Walimire, we all passed the sixth grade. As seventh graders everything about high school, and changing classes were new to us. We elected the following officers: President, Clifford Beck, Vice President, Madelyn Massieg Secretary, Dorothy Auckg Treasurer, .Toe Kreimg and Student Council, Raymond Gerhart. Mr. C. C. Richards was our class sponsor. Charles Groves and Sara Helen Youman were also members of the class. In the eighth grade we elected the following officers: President, Clem Studert Vice President, Madelyn Massieg Secretary, Joe Kreimg Treasurer, Dorothy Auckg and Student Council, Raymond Gerhart. The boys in our class were on the Junior High Basketball team. Our cheerleaders were Dorothy Auck and Madelyn Massie. During the year we enjoyed a skating party in Tiffin and a Halloween Party. We all looked forward to being, 'Green Freshman . With nine members in our class we began our first year in hlgh school. Raymond Gerhart was elected President, Clem Studer, Vice President, Joe Krelm, Secretary, Dorothy Auck, Treasurer, and Clifford Beck, Student Council. Mr. William Williams was our sponsor. On October 8, we had the unforgetable experience of initiation. The f question arose in all of our minds, How can people be so inhuman? But we all sur- vived and looked forward to the time when we were to be on the giving side. Our assembly was held on February 11, using the theme of Lincoln. A program similar to that of Truth or Consequences was also planned with students taking part. At the close of the school year, we planned a farewell party for the Seniors. Knd so the first year of high school came to a glorious end. Virgil Kanney joined us the first of the year. 15

We received our class rings in November. The Junior and Senior Banquet was held in Norwalk, Ohio, on April 28, 1951. We had as a theme The Old Fashioned Garden. Seniors at last! We elected officers for the last time. Initiation was held on October 18, 1951. On October 25, we went to Tiffin to the Bole Dundurand Studio to see who would break the camera first. We had many class meetings to select name cards, invitations, caps and gowns, and speakers. They were: Reverend Katterhenrich for Baccalaureate and Father Duffy for Commencement. Baccalaureate is to be held on Sunday, ,May 18, and Commencement on Thursday, May 22, 1952. Our sponsor again this year is Mr. Meffley. The Senior Class play is to be given on May 2, 1952. Now the History of the Class of '52 must come to an end and we will have to say Farewell' to our old school days. I am sure these days will be remembered for the rest of our lives.
