CLASS PROPHECY It is 1970 and I have just returned from an extended tour of the seven seas. Upon my voyage I have had many harrowing experiences--strange as it may seein while I was marooned in the South Seas one night upon a blood-stained deck, Chief Red Legs prophesied the following features for the Seniors of 1959. Bill Means is still a bachelor and working on his 2nd million. He missed his first. Clair Horsman is now engaged in drawing Mutt and Jeff Cartoons. Wayne Baker is president of the Kaiser-Frazer Auto Factory in Detroit. Doris Strande owns controlling interest in Toddlers Toy Tops. fbaby capsj Gene Rehling has controlling interest of the Brooklyn Bridge. LaDonna Buss has just become head nurse at the Chatfield Clinic. Shirley Loth has recently taken over Tug Boat Annie's place on Lake Superior. Lester Galbraith is still working his way through college selling Browh's Hair Restorer. Ronald Fay is in the process of staking out a home- stead in Alaska. Leonard Colvin has just received fame for his patent of the Hold the Tail While You Milk gadget. Lois Greenlee is home on furlough from her duties with the U. S. Women's Army as physical instructor. Arla Olson is thinking of starting a secretarial school for underpaid teachers. Susan Lowrie's new comic strip, Smilin Sam O'Dell has met with amazing success. Archie Asleson is master sergeant inU. S. Army checking rookies pea shooters. Bob Rose has discovered a new wonder drug which is guaranteed to cure ingrown toenails. Dennis Gunderson and Lyman Grieve have recently published their book Ballet Dancing in 10 Easy Les- sons. Bridget Fritz and her husband operate a prosperous cattle ranch in Argentina. Gene Horsman heads a Rumba Dancing School for Men Only in Chicago. Mary Hedberg is a great success at raising chickens on her home near Troy. Sharon Wille is playing Chinese checkers with the chinks in China. Larry Rogers is head manager of the Tiny Tot Shoe Company of Dover. David Holets is head of a Lonely Hearts Club. Ronnie Schoeppner is head interpreter for Navajo Indians in Arizona. Charlotte Heikes is working on the Bar X Ranch breaking bronchos. Ouch. Wayne Gammell, skilled brake liner, has just bought another garage in New York. Bob Warner is head man at Joey's gym, teaching Chest Expansion. Karen Stephens is now drivers training teacher at C.H.S. Carol Ahern is the famous author of Two Can Live as Cheaply as One. Judy Krenzke is the roving reporter on Advice to Lovelorn for the Chatfield News. Rita Butler has one of the best Used Car Lots this side of the Mississippi. Richard Severson is head stock buyer for Hormel. John Bras has just returned to his farm from a lovely trip to Niagara Falls. Teresa Hunfeld and Linda Copeman recently com- pleted a series of paintings for Esquire boot polish. Bonnie Stecker and Laurie Stephens are now making a thorough study of all the Smiths in the U. S. Beata Shaw is running a steak house with specialty, Well-done steaks. Donna Asleson and Ronda Easler are now writing a book entitled 10O Ways to Appear Tall. Kay Meunier has broken her own record again play- ing on All-American Women's Basketball Team. She is now up to 55 points per game. Jim Buchanan is the State Highway Patrolman whose specialty is bringing to justice reckless driving and il- legal mufflers. Bob Walker and his wonder horse, Flyalong, have signed a contract with CGMGJ Guido Movie Guild for a new movie entitled Dead-Eye Dies Again. Rosemary Scott is the operator of a peanut stand in Coney Island. Jean Mitchell now owns and operates the Wilder Wildcat Night Club of Wykoff. From Chatfield Dairy we hear that Marguerite Lucas and Dennis Hove are working on a new milk product. At last report they were feeding cocoa beans to the cows and getting chocolate milk. Barbara Schrader is the President of Brooklyns Wonien's Wrestling Association. Bill Conway recently married a hard working woman and retired. Kenneth Baier is now high up in the world--washing windows in the Empire State Building. Carl Dailey is a lonesome sheepherder in the Lone Star State. Jerry Richter is Wanted! for robbing old ladies' homes. Lois King is working for the underground-ticket taker for a subway train. Sharon Butler raises many children every day--as an elevator girl. After many years of knocking about here I am back again at Chatfield High School to find every portion of Chief Red Leg's prophesy has been fulfilled.

Our junior year we welcomed Lester Galbraith in time to receive our class rings and help with the Prom. Daydreaming was a disease among us as we whiled away the hours anticipating our next big year. Since time can not be held back our senior days were finally upon us. Additions to our class were, Clair Horsman, Judy Krenzke, Earl Craush, and Peter I-luttong and we were also happy to welcome John Bras, our foreign exchange student from Greece. During the year. activities and school affairs went by all too quickly for most of us. Through the years our number has varied but those that will share our memories of the biggest school affair--graduation--are: Carol Ahern, Archie Asleson, Donna Asleson, Kenneth Baier, Wayne Baker, John Bras, James Buchanan, LaDonna Buss, Rita Butler, Sharon Butler, Leonard Colvin, Wil- liam Conway, Linda Copeman, Carl Dailey, Ronda Easler, Ronald Fay, Bridget Fritz, Lester Galbraith, Wayne Gammell, Lois Greenlee, Lyman Grieve, Den- nis Gunderson, Mary Hedberg, Charlotte I-leikes, David I-lolets, Eugene I-lorsrnan, Clair I-lorsman, Dennis Hove, Teresa I-lunfeld,-Lois King, Shirley Loth, Susan Lowrie, Marguerite Lucas, William Means, Katherine Meunier, Jean lvlitchell, Arla Olson, Gene Rehling, Jerry Rich- ter, Lawrence Rogers, Robert Rose, Ronald Schoeppner, Barbara Schrader, Rosemary Scott, Richard Severson, Beata Shaw, Bonnie Stecker, Karen Stephens, Laurie Stephens, Doris Strande, Robert Walker, Robert Warner, Sharon Willie. To the seniors--Class of 1959--we extend our best wishes for all the luck and success in the future. CLASS WILL This being our last will and testament we, the sen- iors of 59, being of sound mind and body, bequeath these, our most prized possessions as we pass out into the cold, cruel world, to the Juniors of 60. Queen Carol Ahern and King Dennis Gunderson leave their homecoming royalty to some lucky junior girl and boy. Gene Rehling leaves his cowboy boots and uke to Bob Baker. Kenny Baier leaves his physique to Kenny Lacey. Archie Asleson leaves!! Thank goodness. Bob Rose leaves his injuries behind. Ronda Easler leaves her freckles to Betty Lou Pav- lish. Bob Warner says, Having nothing to leave, l shall pass on in state. Jean Mitchell leaves her sleepiness to anybody who's tired enough. Teresa I-lunfeld leaves her soberness to Dean Arnold. Linda Copernan wills her bashfulness to Jimmy Ellis. Barbara Schrader wills her night life to Pat Ward. Ronnie Fay leaves his ease, grace, and getting along with teachers to Don Turner. Larry Rogers leaves his ability to disturb women to Willis Martin. To Jack and Judy Denny we, Karen and Laurie Stephens leave our relationship. Judy Krenzke leaves her cool temper to some sweet little junior girl. Charlotte I-leikes wills her quiet, courteous ways to Karen Johnson. Remember courtesy always pays. Ronnie Schoeppner wills his sleeping sickness to Orville Matzke. Only one catch, no snoring allowed. LaDonna Buss leaves her editorship of the annual to some ambitious junior. Donna Asleson leaves her position as clarinet player to Steve Bailey. Kay Meunier wills her short stature to anyone who wants it. Doris Strande bequeaths her Senior cheerleading position to Sonova Egge who already has a good start. John Bras leaves our school and America to go back to his homeland in Greece. Lester Galbraith wills his sense of humor to Judy Chase. Bill Means leaves the remainder of his dancing les- sons to some energetic Junior. William Conway leaves his ability to get up at 8:26 and get to school by 8:27 to some Junior boy that needs his sleep. Bob Walker leaves his height and athletic ability to Dave Stemp. A Lois King leaves her double A-pluses to Larry Ap- plen. Mary Hedberg leaves her pleasant disposition to Lois Bernard. Rosemary Scott leaves her office duties to any ambitious junior girl. Carl Dailey wills his ability to get his lessons done to John Bungum. Arla Olson wills her talkative personality to Paula Fisher. Wayne Garnmell leaves quietly. Jerry Richter leaves his jokes to anyone who can stand them. Bridget Fritz leaves her joke book to Becky Holets. Sharon Butler bequeaths her masculine charm to Charlotte Finley. Richard Severson wills his chair in chorus to Wayne Anderson. Dennis Hove and Marguerite Lucas leave together. We, Sharon Wille and Shirley Loth, bequeath our techniques for getting our men to all junior girls, hoping they have better luck. James Buchanan gives to Ruth Barnes his perfect attendance record! David Holets has decided to leave part of his artistic talent to some fortunate Junior. Wayne Baker decided to take all he has with him. Rita Butler wills her giggles to Tom McMahon. Lois Greenlee wills her wonderful personality and smile to Carole Ober. Lyman Grieve wills his gas bills to Darrell Richter. Susan Lowrie wills her red hair to Judy Spelhaug. Bonnie Stecker bequeaths her timid ways to Judy Strande. This may prove interesting! ! ! Beata Shaw wills her friendly -manner to Phyllis Borgen. Eugene Horsman, a member of the football team, wills his ability to have a Charleyhorse, sprained ankle, and a bloody nose to David Tuohy. Leonard Colvin and Clair I-lorsman wills their memberships in the Bachelor's Club to Peter Matousek and Donald Severson. Juniors, we the Seniors of 59 have sacrificed these, our most prized possessions to you--take good care of them and use them well.
