Jean Gwynne was a worthy representative ol the class in declamatory, live ol the Girls' Sextet were Juniors, as were two ol the live cheerleaders. ln addition, the class members have attained places ol esteem in other music groups and in athletics. The Juniors with Miss Davis their class adviser, entertained the Seniors at a Mexican Prom on May 16.

H. S. The ofiicial positions in the class are held by Jerome Halloran, president, Le Roy Haagenson, vice presidentg Joyce Grindland, secretary. Miss Taylor and Mr. Spenc- er are class advisers. The sophs were well re- presented in the field of sports by John Sisson, Le Roy Haagenson, Jim Lynch. Bill Connelly, Bob Battey, Claire Bennett, Archie Bai- ley, George Haven, John Laivell, and Owen Paulson. The sophomores have re- presentatives in the band and choruses as well as in the smaller instrumental and vocal groups. At least three-fourths of those who participated in declamatory work w e r e sophomores. F r o m t h e ranks of the class, George Haven Jr. had the honor of representing Chatiield in the local, district, and reg- ional declam contests. In the politics and gov- ernment of C. H. S. the class took a large part. On the student council are Doretta Lvnch, Bill Connelly, Jim Lynch, Jerome Halloran. For two consecutive years the homecoming queen has been chosen from this class. This year Irene Tuohy cap- tured the coveted position. Virginia Caw and Lorraine Bickness also represented the class in the race for royalty. The members of the class have participated in many activities. These include the Homecoming parade in which the ninth grade won first prize for its float: the Junior High Play, Alias J anetta, and the Student Court of which Delores Fuchs is president. In addition, several members of the class be- long to the various music groups and many boys have taken active parts in the athletic program.
